In the coming time, the European Ao Dai Beauty Charity Fund will focus on charity activities targeting women and children in difficult circumstances across the country.
According to a VNA reporter in the Czech Republic, on the evening of December 5, at the Sapa Trade Center in Prague, the European Ao Dai Beauty Charity Fund (Charity Fund) held its 3rd Congress to finalize its personnel and outline its operational direction for the 2024-2027 term.
The event was attended by many contestants participating in the European Ao Dai beauty pageant from 2018 to present and received strong support from the Vietnamese Embassy and Vietnamese associations in the Czech Republic.
At the congress, the Executive Committee for the 2024-2027 term was elected, with Ms. Tran Hoang Mai Anh as Chairwoman of the Charity Fund.
The charity fund was established on January 9, 2019 after the success of the Miss Ao Dai Vietnam Europe 2018 contest.
In nearly 6 years of operation, the fund has raised billions of VND for charitable activities in Europe and Vietnam, such as mobilizing to build two charity houses in Quang Tri and Quang Nam in early 2022 with a budget of 150 million VND, mobilizing to support single women and orphaned children with disabilities in Hue city in 2023 with more than 350 million VND.
Since the beginning of 2024, the fund has continued to support school construction and help disadvantaged families in Son La with an amount of up to 400 million VND; at the same time, responding to the launch of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the fund has supported 1 house equivalent to 50 million VND for the poor.
In the coming time, the Charity Fund will continue its charitable activities focusing on Vietnamese women and children in difficult circumstances across the country.
In the immediate future, the fund will launch a donation of 350 million VND to support orphaned and disabled children in Ben Tre in early 2025.
On behalf of the ladies of Europe, the President of the Charity Fund, Ms. Tran Hoang Mai Anh, said that she will spread more widely charitable activities and useful activities for the community, which is also the beautiful tradition of mutual love of the Vietnamese people and Vietnamese women.
The fund's executive board also hopes to receive support and active participation from associations and Ao Dai beauty queens across Europe in charitable activities in Europe and Vietnam.
Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam, on behalf of the Vietnamese diplomatic representative agency in the Czech Republic, praised the charity activities of the Charity Fund in recent times, as well as the contributions of the Ao Dai beauty queens to introducing Vietnamese culture to friends across Europe through activities promoting Vietnamese Ao Dai.
The Ambassador hopes that the new Executive Committee will continue to promote volunteer activities and contribute more to promoting Vietnam's relations with partners in Europe, including the Czech Republic.
On this occasion, many members of the Charity Fund received certificates of merit and awards in recognition of their contributions to charity and community work./.
