Speaking at a press conference on the expected agenda of the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly taking place on the afternoon of October 20, Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai said that on the first working day of the 8th Session (October 21), the National Assembly is expected to conduct the personnel process for the position of President.

At the press conference, press agencies raised issues related to personnel work in the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly. Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai said that at the preparatory session of the National Assembly tomorrow morning (October 21), the National Assembly will review the contents expected to be submitted to the session and consider approving the session agenda. This includes the content on personnel work, which will be considered and approved by the National Assembly in the official agenda of the session. According to the scheduled agenda of the session submitted to the National Assembly for approval, on the first day of the meeting, the National Assembly will conduct the personnel process for the position of President in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and laws. Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai said that the personnel process is carried out according to the principle of "Party nomination - people's election", at the 10th Conference of the Party Central Committee recently voted to introduce qualified personnel and will submit to the National Assembly to elect the position of President for the 2021-2026 term in accordance with regulations. The program has arranged time to carry out personnel work under the authority of the National Assembly.

Also at the press conference, Party Central Committee member and National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Dinh said that on the opening day of the 8th session (morning of October 21), General Secretary and President To Lam will deliver a speech at the opening session. This is one of the new points of this session. National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Dinh said that this session has many contents, many big issues, many big projects with new approaches. The number of projects is the highest since the beginning of the term. The National Assembly Standing Committee held many sessions, worked with the Government and documents were sent to National Assembly deputies earlier than previous sessions. With over 80 projects, 132/154 documents have been sent to National Assembly deputies.
