On August 26, at the 8th Extraordinary Session of the 15th National Assembly, the National Assembly conducted the process of perfecting a number of positions, including approving the appointment of 3 Deputy Prime Ministers.
The approval of the appointment of three Deputy Prime Ministers was carried out by National Assembly deputies by secret ballot.
After completing the prescribed steps, the National Assembly discussed and voted to approve the Resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment to the position of Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 term.
The personnel approved for appointment as Deputy Prime Ministers include: Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary Nguyen Hoa Binh; Party Central Committee member, Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc and Party Central Committee member, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, with a vote of 432/432 delegates present in favor.
After the reorganization, the Government leadership includes Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and 5 Deputy Prime Ministers: Tran Hong Ha, Le Thanh Long, Nguyen Hoa Binh, Ho Duc Phoc and Bui Thanh Son.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh was born on May 4, 1958; hometown: Hanh Duc commune, Nghia Hanh district, Quang Ngai province; professional qualifications: Associate Professor, Doctor of Law, University of Security.
He is a member of the 13th Politburo; Secretary of the Party Central Committee for the 12th and 13th terms (from April 2021); Member of the Party Central Committee for the 11th, 12th and 13th terms; Member of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption; Member of the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform; National Assembly Delegate for the 13th, 14th and 15th terms.
He grew up in Tam Ky District Police, Quang Nam-Da Nang province in the 1980s.
After that, he spent time studying in the Soviet Union, then returned to Vietnam to hold the positions of Deputy Head of Department, Head of Department of Industrial Crime Prevention; Chairman of the Inspection Committee, Deputy Director, Director, Deputy Secretary, Party Secretary of the Economic Police Department (C15); Deputy Director General, Deputy Head of the Investigation Police Agency, Ministry of Public Security until early 2006.
Next, he held the positions of Deputy Director General of the General Department of Police, Ministry of Public Security, concurrently Director of the Department of Investigation Police for Corruption Cases, Secretary of the Party Committee of C37, Standing Member of the Party Committee of the General Department of Police, Deputy Head of the Investigation Police Agency, Ministry of Public Security until April 2008, when he was assigned as Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee (until May 2010) and became Secretary of this province for more than 1 year.
He was then elected by the National Assembly as Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy and held this position for nearly 5 years.
In April 2016, he was elected by the National Assembly as Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and has continued to hold this position until now.
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc was born on November 1, 1963; hometown: Quynh Thach commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province; professional qualification: Doctor of Economics.
He is a member of the Party Central Committee, 12th and 13th terms; a National Assembly delegate, 14th and 15th terms.
He started as a Chief Accountant of a Construction Enterprise in his hometown of Quynh Luu and worked as Chief Accountant of the Construction Enterprise - Construction Company 7, Chief Accountant of the Investment and Construction Project Management Board of Cua Lo town, Nghe An province.
He has been associated with Nghe An province for a long time and held the following positions: Head of the Finance and Pricing Department of Cua Lo town; Vice Chairman of Cua Lo town People's Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Town Party Committee, Chairman of Cua Lo town People's Committee; Vice Chairman and then Chairman of the province and held the position of Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Nghe An province from March 2013 to April 2016.
He went to the Central Committee and was elected by the National Assembly as State Auditor General from June 2016 to April 2021.
He was then approved by the National Assembly to be appointed as Minister of Finance until now.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son was born on October 16, 1962; hometown: Tay Mo ward, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi city; professional qualification: Master of International Relations.
He was a member of the Party Central Committee for the 12th and 13th terms; a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Central Agencies; a member of the National Defense and Security Council (from April 2021); a second-class Ambassador; and a National Assembly delegate for the 14th and 15th terms.
He entered the diplomatic service in February 1985 and worked as a specialist at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a specialist at the Academy of International Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the late 1980s.
After that, he worked as a specialist, Head of the European-American Research Department, Chief of Office, Intern Deputy Director, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
From March 2000 to July 2003, he worked as Counselor, Second Person, Party Cell Secretary, Embassy of Vietnam in Singapore.
He then held the positions of Deputy Director and then Director of the Department of Foreign Policy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 5 years.
Before becoming Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in November 2009, he worked as Assistant Minister and Director of the Department of Foreign Policy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs for more than 2 years.
He was assigned as Permanent Deputy Minister from January 2016 to March 2021.
In April 2021, he was approved by the National Assembly to be appointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs until now.
