Recently, Bau Ca Cai tourist destination (Binh Thuan commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province) is becoming a place that attracts many tourists because of the peaceful scenery of the mangrove swamp and the unique beauty of the white toad forest along with many interesting experiences.

Every day, I row the boat 1-2 trips, during Tet and holidays, 6-7 trips. Each trip takes about 1 hour, if there are many groups of tourists taking pictures, it takes longer” - Ms. Phung Thi Buoi (Thuan Phuoc village) excitedly shared.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DTC) of Quang Ngai province, in recent years, community tourism and rural tourism in the province have had encouraging results, attracting the enthusiastic participation of local people and receiving positive responses from the whole society.

However, according to tourism businesses, compared to neighboring provinces and cities, community tourism and rural tourism in Quang Ngai are still facing many difficulties and challenges such as: there is no clear and unified legal corridor from the central to local levels, tourism products are still spontaneous, there is still a "hot development" mindset without paying attention to sustainability.

Besides, there is no connection between tourism businesses and local people. Promotion and advertising work is still weak, not competitive enough with other places.

Therefore, the State needs to have appropriate investment and support policies to encourage the development of community tourism, including investment in infrastructure and transportation to support in training, service development, restoration and development of traditional occupations, and support in building a chain of links for community tourism development.

Integrating community tourism development and rural tourism into other policies on regional development, community development, new rural construction policies, policies to encourage agricultural and rural development...

There should be guidelines and regulations for the community in tourism activities to protect the natural environment. To effectively exploit the "gold mine" of community tourism and rural tourism, recently, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province has established a Working Group on developing community tourism and rural tourism to focus on exploiting and promoting the strengths of this type of tourism and promptly providing support appropriate to the actual situation in the locality.

In addition, closely follow the Resolutions of the Provincial People's Council on supporting the development of rural tourism spots and rural tourism products with regional characteristics; support the construction and implementation of pilot models for rural tourism development in the direction of green, responsible and sustainable tourism.

Organize training courses, professional development, and provide necessary tourism skills guidance to organizations, individuals, and households to serve customers, aiming to shift from agricultural labor to services such as cooking, communication, tour guides, etc.

In particular, in 2024, Quang Ngai province will organize many special events to attract tourists. In April and May alone, there will be a Culture, Sports and Tourism Week; a seminar on tourism development of the most beautiful bays and islands in Asia in Ly Son district; an international sailing and stand-up paddleboarding race at My Khe beach; an international paragliding championship and the "Flying to Ly Son" hot air balloon festival in Ly Son...
