Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission attended and chaired the conference.

Leaders of Quang Nam province attending the conference included Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung; Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Le Tri Thanh; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Huynh Thi Thuy Dung and representatives of relevant departments and branches of the province.

Speaking at the conference, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia affirmed that in recent times, the Party and State have issued many guidelines and policies on ethnic and religious affairs; Party committees and organizations at all levels have concretized the Party's guidelines and resolutions on ethnic and religious affairs, ensuring equality, solidarity, respect, and mutual assistance among ethnic groups for mutual development; and ensuring the people's freedom of belief and religion.

According to comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, the Party and State have implemented many programs and projects to develop the economy, culture and society in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; the lives of ethnic minorities have been improved; education, health care, culture, information and communication have received investment; traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities have been preserved and promoted, gradually eliminating backward customs and superstitions.

Authorities at all levels pay attention to resolving the legitimate and legal needs and aspirations of religious dignitaries and followers in accordance with the law, and strengthening religious solidarity.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that in the coming time, relevant Party committees, Party organizations, ministries, branches and localities continue to thoroughly grasp, concretize and organize the implementation of the Party's policies on ethnic and religious work in the current situation, suitable to each locality and unit, following the motto "not leaving any vacancies or omissions in tasks".

Along with that, focus on caring for and improving the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities and religious people; preserve and promote the good traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities, and promote the resources of religions for the cause of national development.

Continue to guide and create favorable conditions for recognized religious organizations to operate in accordance with the law, charter, and regulations; proactively prevent and resolutely combat activities that take advantage of ethnicity, beliefs, and religions to cause insecurity, disorder, division, and sabotage the great national unity and religious unity.
