On August 27, Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Ngoan - Vice Chairman of District 7 People's Committee - said that on the occasion of September 2 this year, the district will officially open the Sky Garden Commercial - Food Street - Tan Phong Ward.
And in the next 9 days of the opening week, there will be a series of cultural, sports, and handicraft practice instruction, culinary, and commercial activities throughout, contributing to making the district an attractive September 2 holiday destination for residents and tourists to Ho Chi Minh City.
Accordingly, the opening ceremony will take place on the night of August 30, introducing the image of a model night food service commercial area, located in a civilized model urban area, bringing high economic value to the community. To create a highlight, the district has prepared a Vietnamese - Korean - Japanese Mashup, a Flasmob performance, and at the same time introduced the "Ambassadors" of the neighborhood who are famous people living in the area, participating in the Nightown D7 night street lighting ceremony.
People also had the opportunity to enjoy a cultural and musical exchange performance with the theme "Colors of Vietnam - Korea" with the participation of famous Korean and Vietnamese singers.
Also during the opening week, there will be a series of music programs every night such as: art program to celebrate the 79th anniversary of Vietnam National Day September 2; performances of traditional ethnic musical instruments, pentatonic music of the Khmer people in the South; fashion show with the theme "Folk emotions"; acoustic performance exchange; "Student singing" festival in 2024.

For young families, the neighborhood also prepares folk games and sports activities such as: blindfolded pot smashing, coconut leaf stacking and clay figurine making, portrait painting on glass, self-portrait painting, children's painting, statue painting, reading culture, free drawing classes, human statue performance, Yoyo performance and martial arts performance.
In addition, people will also have the opportunity to experience green, renewable and environmentally friendly handicrafts such as making traditional conical hats of Chuong Village; booths displaying Vietnamese products and gift products to serve visitors.
During the opening week, visitors can also shop with more than 300 branded products, with discounts of up to 80% at SC Vivo City Shopping Center under the "Branded Product Promotion - City Sale" program in 2024 organized by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, and visit the 18th Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC).
Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Ngoan said that the activities at this opening week complement each other, encouraging residents and tourists to come to the district to shop and experience.
"We continue to develop a plan for cultural and sports activities, regional booths, OCOP products, etc. periodically for the coming time, to create unique features to attract tourists from all over, especially international visitors to Ho Chi Minh City.
These include products such as tourism combined with conferences, seminars, exhibitions; tourism combined with health care; tourism combined with education; tourism combined with entertainment and sports.
Particularly, tourism products combining shopping and cuisine are concretized with the development of the night economy in the district, bringing interesting experiences to tourists," said Ms. Be Ngoan.
To handle the expected surge in visitors, District 7 People's Committee has also planned to coordinate with Saigon Public Transport Company Limited to transport visitors from the Wonderland Park parking lot, Nguyen Dong Chi Street to shopping areas, and participate in activities at Sky Garden Food Street.
