According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip with model number SM 6475-AB is the latest addition to the company's mid-range mobile SoC platform. It is in the higher segment than the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 (introduced in May).
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip builds on the power of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip, offering 10% better CPU performance and 20% improved artificial intelligence (AI) performance. The chip is built on a 4-nanometer process with 64-bit architecture including an octa-core Qualcomm Kryo CPU, clocked at a maximum speed of 2.4GHz.
Devices running this chipset will reportedly support LPDDR5 RAM clocked at 3200 MHz and full-HD displays with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. The integrated Adreno GPU is said to improve performance by up to 30%.
Besides, it has Qualcomm Sensing Hub with Low Power AI System that supports AI-based features like voice assistant, noise cancellation, and camera capabilities.
Smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset will be able to support lenses up to 200 MP and the chipset features a triple 12-bit Spectra ISP setup, which offers multi-frame noise reduction, AI-based denoising engine and staggered high dynamic range. In terms of connectivity, Bluetooth 5.2 and Wiffi 6E are supported, Quick Charge 4+ via USB Type-C.
