PSG needed only a draw to secure the title, but they got more than that as striker Desire Doue scored the only goal at the Parc des Princes to give PSG a 1-0 win. It was their 23rd win in 28 unbeaten matches in Ligue 1 this season.

With this victory, PSG has a total of 74 points, 24 points more than the second-placed team AS Monaco while there are only 6 rounds left to end the tournament.

This means PSG is sure to win the championship even if they lose all the remaining matches.

This is PSG's 11th French title since Qatari sponsor QSI took over the club in 2011, and the 13th in their history.

Spanish coach Luis Enrique was surrounded by his players as the final whistle blew.

Speaking to ESPN after the match, Luis Enrique excitedly shared: "The fans are very proud of us and we have given them this title. Our goal is to play attractive football and win the cup, we have shown that throughout the season."

Winning the Ligue 1 championship early will give PSG time to focus all their efforts on the Champions League arena.

This is a tournament that PSG has always craved but has never won in its history. PSG will meet Aston Villa on April 10 at home at Parc des Princes in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
