PNJ received the Board of Directors of the Year award

The Board of the Year award from VIOD is a recognition of PNJ's efforts in applying advanced standards of corporate governance, transparency in business operations according to international best practices in Vietnam. This is a testament to PNJ's results in integrating ESG standards (including Environment, Society and Governance) with business operations, aiming at sustainable development goals, contributing to the green transformation and sustainable growth of the economy.

According to the Organizing Committee, the information assessing the quality and effectiveness of the nominated Boards of Directors has been evaluated and analyzed by VIOD in the information officially published in the 2022 reports of listed companies. The evaluation process includes 3 rounds: Round of designing the evaluation criteria, round of evaluation (preliminary) and round of voting (final). The award honors the best Board of Directors, where leaders demonstrate their capacity through strategic vision, successfully leading the business with professionalism, efficiency, optimizing shareholder benefits and practicing good corporate governance practices.

In addition, PNJ's Board of Directors was also honored as a highly diverse Board of Directors when it fully meets the criteria of efficiency and gender balance, generational diversity, skill diversity, and independence balance.

Throughout its formation and development, PNJ has created outstanding marks in production and business activities and gradually made the Vietnamese jewelry industry famous on the world jewelry map. The achievements are thanks to the orientation and strategy of the Board of Directors and the efforts of the PNJ company.

From 2022, with the determination of the Board of Directors, PNJ will upgrade sustainable development practices towards ESG (Environment - Social - Governance) implementation. By announcing the establishment of the "Environment, Social and Governance Committee" (ESG) in early 2022, PNJ will standardize sustainable development activities according to international standards, expecting to upgrade its long-term strategy. This is a component for sustainable development and a measure of competitiveness.

Thanks to the combination of the strategy of "connection - liberation - transformation" led by the Board of Directors, flexibly following each beat of the market, it has contributed significantly to creating positive business results for PNJ. In 2022, PNJ set a new business record in the enterprise with annual revenue reaching 33,876 billion VND, an increase of more than 3 times; Profit after tax reached 1,811 billion VND, an increase of more than 2.5 times compared to 2017.

PNJ is also one of the pioneering enterprises contributing noble values to the community and society. It is known that in the past 5 years alone, PNJ has contributed nearly 6,000 billion VND to the state budget, helping over 1 million people in difficult circumstances through community responsibility activities. In 2023, in order to continue to maintain and promote the power of compassion, support and care for Tet 2023 for poor families and disadvantaged workers, PNJ continues to coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and partner units to deploy the chain "Mini Supermarket Tet 0 Dong 2023" with a total cost of mobilization and contribution of up to 11.1 billion VND and helping nearly 20,000 disadvantaged people nationwide.

In addition, the environment is also an area that the company pays special attention to. The company regularly invests in upgrading machinery according to modern standards to reduce loss, improve quality and productivity of wastewater treatment to meet discharge standards. The unit has registered for energy saving support at the Ho Chi Minh City Energy Conservation Center. PNJ also built a wastewater treatment system using chemical technology combined with microbiology. This is a modern technology, with high investment costs and is commonly used in many manufacturing enterprises in Vietnam.

With the above efforts, PNJ has continuously appeared in the rankings of prestigious awards: Top 50 most effective business companies in Vietnam 2023 announced by Nhip Cau Dau Tu Magazine; 9 consecutive times in the Top 50 best listed companies organized by Forbes Vietnam; "Most valuable jewelry brand in Vietnam 2023" evaluated by Brand Finance with an estimated brand value of 428.43 million USD, an increase of 17% compared to 2022.
