Visit and celebrate Chol Chnam Thmay at Rach Giong Pagoda

On the occasion of the traditional New Year of the Khmer people, Chol Chnam Thmay, on the morning of April 15, a delegation of officials from the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province, led by comrade Huynh Ngoc Sang, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, visited and wished a happy new year at Rach Giong Pagoda, Ho Thi Ky Commune, Thoi Binh District.

Mr. Huynh Ngoc Sang wished a happy new year to monks, Buddhists and people at Rach Giong Pagoda.

At the destination, on behalf of the delegation, Mr. Huynh Ngoc Sang informed about the socio-economic development situation of the province; at the same time, he affirmed that the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province always pay attention, devote many resources and regularly implement policies to care for and develop the Khmer ethnic minority area, especially focusing on implementing national target programs, eliminating temporary houses, dilapidated houses... Thereby, improving the material and spiritual life, and bringing prosperity to the Khmer ethnic minority area.

Over the past time, the provincial leaders, sectors and levels have always acknowledged and appreciated the positive contributions of monks and Buddhists in preserving and promoting the national cultural identity, living a "good life - good religion", contributing to building an increasingly sustainable national solidarity bloc. The annual Chol Chnam Thmay festival is an opportunity for the Khmer people to continue to preserve the nation's fine traditional cultural values, promote self-reliance, strive for labor and production, uphold the spirit of learning, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, build new rural areas, and work with local authorities to build a more civilized and beautiful homeland.

Ms. Quach Kieu Mai, Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, presented gifts to members of the temple's Board of Directors and prestigious people.

Last year, the Khmer people in Ho Thi Ky commune were excited to receive much attention from the State and benefactors, such as funding of 800 million VND to upgrade classrooms, teach Khmer in the summer for students; support a new Ngo boat, along with many gifts for poor households and disadvantaged students, especially building 29 new houses for the Khmer people in time for Tet.

On this occasion, the delegation presented Tet gifts to Rach Giong Pagoda, monks, the board of directors, prestigious people among the Khmer people and sent Chol Chnam Thmay New Year wishes in 2025 to the monks, superior monks, venerable monks, acha, monks, nuns, Buddhists and Khmer people in the commune.
