"At that time, the baby's mother was so scared that she could not stand. I decided to follow her to support her and help her calm down," said Mr. Hai, a bus assistant on the Nghi Son - Hanoi route of Doan Thuy bus company.

Recently, a short clip appeared on social media with the content of the incident in which a staff member of Doan Thuy bus company, running on the Nghi Son - Hanoi route, quickly gave first aid and asked the traffic police to take a baby over 1 month old to the hospital for emergency treatment.

According to the posted content, on the afternoon of March 24, the passenger bus with license plate 36F-000.90 left Nuoc Ngam bus station (Hanoi) for Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa). At that time, on the bus there was a young woman carrying a baby less than 1 month old.

At around 3:30 p.m., the car arrived at Thung Thi tunnel, Cao Bo - Mai Son highway, the young mother screamed for everyone to save her child.

Mr. Hoang Ba Hai (bus assistant) said, when I first got on the bus, I asked around and found out that the mother's name was Trang, from Nghi Son island commune. A few days ago, Ms. Trang took her child to Hanoi for examination because he had respiratory failure and digestive problems. He was lying on the bus bed when he heard the screams and ran to see what was going on.

The clip recorded the moment the bus conductor and driver Doan Thuy brought Trang and her child to the traffic police for help.

"The baby was purple, convulsing, and having difficulty breathing. I immediately laid the baby on his side and patted his back to clear his airway. After a few minutes of first aid, the baby showed signs of recovery and began breathing on his own. I carried the baby to the area near the driver's seat of Do Cong Cuong to get more oxygen, and at the same time discussed taking the baby to the hospital," Hai recounted.

Faced with this situation, driver Cuong immediately turned on his hazard lights and asked for permission to take the child to the hospital as soon as possible. However, because the vehicle was large and there were many passengers, Cuong and Hai agreed to ask for help if they encountered traffic police on the road.

Mr. Cuong drove to Gia Mieu intersection (Thanh Hoa province) to meet the Traffic Police Team No. 3 (Traffic Police Department - Ministry of Public Security) on duty. As soon as they received the news, the police officers immediately used a specialized vehicle, turned on the priority siren to take the mother and child and Mr. Hai to the hospital.

"At that time, the baby's mother was so scared that she could not stand. I decided to follow her to support her and help her calm down. I just hoped that the baby would be saved. When we arrived at ACA Hospital in Bim Son, I told the traffic police to stay and support Trang and her child, and I had to go because there were still many passengers waiting on the bus," Hai recalled.

Mr. Mai Ngoc Doan, Director of Doan Thuy Nghi Son Company Limited (Doan Thuy bus company) said: Cuong and Hai's handling of the situation was very skillful. If they had been slow, the child would have been in critical condition. Meanwhile, the bus could not have exceeded the speed limit, so it was right to ask the traffic police in this situation. Immediately after the information spread, we praised Mr. Cuong and Mr. Hai. The bus company also always upholds its responsibility to ensure the safety of passengers.

According to Mr. Doan, thanks to timely first aid and being taken to the hospital, the child is now safe.
