(Dan Tri) - Right after the New Year's Eve moment, many people went to temples to pray for good luck on the first day of the new year.
Recorded at Tay Ho Palace (Tay Ho district) at 1:00 a.m. on February 10 (the first day of Tet), crowds of people flocked here to pray and pray for good luck on the first day of the new year (Photo: Manh Quan). The petition writing area is also bustling with visitors, with calligraphers staying up all night to serve customers who want to offer petitions at the beginning of the year (Photo: Manh Quan). The number of people coming to Tay Ho Palace is so large that there is no more space in the main yard, and the area where the offerings are placed is also filled with trays of offerings (Photo: Manh Quan). Carrying the trays of offerings also became difficult when having to inch through the crowd of people filling the yard (Photo: Manh Quan).
Going to church at the beginning of the year, especially after New Year's Eve, has become a habit of many people in the capital (Photo: Manh Quan). Ms. Nguyen Thi Mua (Phuc Xa, Ba Dinh) came to Tay Ho Temple to pray for health and peace for her family. Ms. Mua said that she has kept the habit of going to the temple on the first day of Tet for a long time. Every year, she usually goes during the day, but this year she went earlier with her daughter, right after the New Year's Eve ceremony (Photo: Manh Quan). Talking about the atmosphere at Tay Ho Temple, Ms. Mua felt a pleasant, peaceful atmosphere, quite gentle when there was no jostling or pushing. Two young people, Ho Tuan Duy (born in 1998) and Nguyen Hong An (born in 1999), have also kept the habit of going to the pagoda on the first day of Tet for 4 years now. On the first day of the new year, Tuan Duy prayed for good health and success in work, while Hong An, in addition to good health, wished for their relationship to become stronger and more lasting (Photo: Manh Quan). Recorded at Quan Su Pagoda (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) at 1am on the first day of Tet, the number of people coming here to worship was also very large (Photo: Thanh Dong).
The outside yard also became crowded, at times filled with people and Buddhists coming to burn incense and perform rituals (Photo: Thanh Dong). Quan Su Pagoda is a place to worship Bodhisattva, Buddha and national teachers of the Ly Dynasty. It is also considered one of the most sacred pagodas in Hanoi, so it is understandable that many people come here to worship on the first day of the new year (Photo: Thanh Dong). Many people burn incense and pray for good things to come in the new year. Some pray for money, love, health and peace for their families (Photo: Thanh Dong).
