Women in the capital join hands to classify and process waste

The annual Clean Up the World campaign is an opportunity to spread community activities for the environment, aiming to improve the effectiveness of environmental protection work; at the same time, calling on individuals, groups and communities to join hands in taking practical actions to reduce the burden on nature and the environment, adapt to climate change, towards the goal of developing a circular economy and sustainable development.

Vice President of the Hanoi Women's Union Pham Thi My Hoa said that, together with other localities across the country, in recent years, Hanoi has always actively organized movements on environmental protection; developed strategies on environmental protection and climate change adaptation; and synchronously implemented solutions in environmental protection. Socio-economic development activities associated with environmental protection are sustainable.

The organizers presented environmentally friendly products to women members.

Besides, the city government always pays attention to and directs departments, branches, districts, towns in the area to implement key tasks in environmental protection to make the capital increasingly green, clean and beautiful.

Realizing the role and responsibility of the Women's Union and each woman in the capital in participating in the implementation of the city's political tasks, implementing the direction of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union and the City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee, in the past time, each Women's Union has had many practical activities, many works to carry out environmental protection work associated with the Campaign "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean"; Campaign "Women in the capital behave beautifully"...

Many good models and practices in the locality have been built and replicated such as the model "Exchanging scrap to keep green, raising charity funds", "Turning garbage dumps into self-managed women's flower gardens", "Clean fields", "Classifying and treating household waste", "Women participating in building green - clean - beautiful and environmentally friendly community activity spots" ... creating changes in the awareness and actions of each cadre, member, woman and community about reducing plastic waste, protecting the environment...

According to the Vice President of the City Women's Union, in recent days, Hanoi in particular and the Northern provinces in general have suffered many losses in terms of human lives and property due to storm Yagi... Immediately after the storm passed, on the streets, village roads, alleys, the People, local authorities and mass organizations immediately deployed teams and groups to clean up houses, remove fallen trees, and fix traffic. In which, 100% of the Women's Union at all levels also participated with the whole population in cleaning the environment throughout the city.

At the program, the City Women's Union organized a training conference on knowledge of classifying and treating household waste for members.

The Capital Women's Day joins hands to classify and treat waste is organized with the desire to continue to propagate and mobilize cadres, women's union members and people of the Capital to replicate good and effective models and practices of classifying and treating waste in all levels of the Capital Women's Union.

Especially in the context of the whole population urgently cleaning up the environment after storms and floods with the motto "where the water recedes, clean up there", restoring normal life and preventing and avoiding epidemics, the Hanoi Women's Union calls on each cadre and member of the Hanoi Women's Union to be an active propagandist, a good person doing good deeds, spreading meaningful messages, beautiful actions in the work of joining hands to protect the environment, overcome the consequences of storms and floods, restore the capital Hanoi to be green, clean, beautiful, ready to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).

Within the framework of the program, the Hanoi Women's Union organized a Training Conference on knowledge of classifying and treating household waste" with the participation of nearly 400 members, women representing the Capital's Women.
