When Cheat meet the ghost

The main character in the film is Nakrob (Chantavit Dhanasevi) - a young con man who specializes in buying dilapidated apartments at cheap costs and then selling them for a profit at exorbitant prices.

The story begins when Nakrob discovers an abandoned hotel, located on a hill by the sea. Seeing a rare opportunity, he decides to turn it into a luxury hotel to make a profit.

However, Nakrob soon realizes that the ghost of the former owner Lalita (Kanyawee Songmuang) still lingers in the hotel, preventing him from carrying out his plan to get rich.

With no other choice, Nakrob has to seek out some spiritual experts to help him fight with Lalita's spirit. From there, the intense but humorous battle between the two worlds begins.

The film explores the humorous fight between humans and ghosts.

404 run away now The idea is not new, following the familiar "ghost comedy" motif of Thai cinema. The script still revolves around ghosts with the purpose of harassing and teasing people.

The crew combined horror and comedy elements to lead the story. Over time, the fate of the witch Lalita is gradually revealed, bringing many surprises to the audience.

The writers also tried to refresh by adding many youthful elements, such as using the hit song APT of Rosé (BlackPink) in a segment. The cameo cast also attracted attention with the presence of two Indonesian actors, Abidzar Al-Ghifari and Adzana Ashel.

Or Uyen An - Tran Thanh's younger sister - also plays a female ghost with the image of a Holy Lady in Dao Mau. Although she doesn't appear much, she still brings a new color to the Thai project.

This is the debut film of director Pichaya Jarusboonpracha. Therefore, the work also has certain limitations.

Some details could have been cut because they did not contribute much to the main story. However, the director was not really strong in editing, and did not handle some scenes well, causing the pace to be a bit slow at times, making the film drag on even though it only lasted 104 minutes.

Graceful acting

The acting is a factor that makes the work more interesting, somewhat saving the script. Taking on the main role of Nakrop is Chantavit Dhanasevi - a familiar face to Vietnamese audiences through many comedies such as Hello Stranger (2010), ATM: Error (2012)...

Chantavit scores points with his natural acting, making viewers laugh in humorous situations. He also balances humor and emotion well, showing emotional depth in scenes that require romance and seriousness.

Meanwhile, Kanyawee Songmuang created a surprise when playing the role of the witch Lalita. Star rebellious age continues to score points with her sweet appearance and cute acting. She brings a ghost image that is not scary but pitiful, gaining sympathy from the audience.

Chantavit Dhanasevi also works well with Kanyawee Songmuang, creating a great duo on the big screen. They succeed in creating funny situations together, helping the film maintain a certain level of appeal.

Kanyawee Songmuang's appearance as the witch.

Before 404 Run Now , Thai cinema once created a fever at the Vietnamese box office with horror movies Tee Yod: The Ghost Eater 2 - grossed more than 99 billion VND, setting a record as the most popular Thai film in our country.

However, not all works from the Land of Golden Pagodas are warmly received. Most recently, the horror film Battlefield of the Dead only earned over 9 billion VND despite being the main star Santinator's Palace – famous for rogue genius (2017), Go back in time to love you (2022).

404 run away now The release of the film in Vietnam a month later than in its home country was a calculation of the distributor. The film attracted audiences in our country mainly because it was released right on Christmas, and it was also close thanks to Uyen An and the voice actors such as Le Duong Bao Lam and Diep Bao Ngoc.

Up to now, the film has earned more than 9 billion VND from early screenings, about to surpass Battlefield of the Dead about achievements at the Vietnamese box office. Daily rankings of Box Office Vietnam also recorded the movie beat Kaleidoscope: Get revenge on the ghost blockbuster Mufasa: The Lion King on the number of screenings and tickets sold.

In general, 404 run away now Not too new but still a humorous and easy-to-watch work. The crew did a good job with the familiar formula, and had a reasonable release strategy, so it easily scored points with Vietnamese audiences.
