In its second week of release, Tunnels: The Sun in the Dark still leaves its competitors far behind on the box office charts, despite the pursuit of many new heavyweight rivals.

Although it is in its second week of release, The Tunnels still proves its popularity and interest from the audience. The proof is that, although there were many more quality imported films released in theaters last week, it still lost out in terms of revenue compared to the work of director Bui Thac Chuyen.

Specifically, Marrying a Ghost to Solve Bad Luck - a Thai film remade from the famous Taiwanese film The Story of Me and the Devil Becoming a Family , which made waves at the box office in early 2023, despite creating a lot of controversy on social media, only ranked second.

The film earned more than 15 billion VND in revenue with 174,617 tickets sold and 5,241 screenings.

Marrying a Ghost to Get Rid of Bad Luck revolves around Menn, a thief who is working as an undercover agent for the police, and is also a straight man. One day, Menn accidentally picks up a mysterious red envelope and is bound by a supernatural contract, forcing him to marry a ghost. Not stopping there, fate becomes even more ironic when Menn's "wife" is not only a person from the underworld, but also a cute "beautiful" ghost with progressive thoughts named Titi. Up to now, the film has earned nearly 20 billion VND.

The number 3 spot on the weekly box office chart belongs to A Minecraft Movie , which was released at the same time as Tunnels.

This family, action, adventure, and mythological film has a weekly revenue of over VND4.4 billion and a total revenue up to now of over VND18.5 billion.

The horror film Panor: Blood Magic was just released this week but only earned less than 2.6 billion VND. Meanwhile, Construction Worker Secret Agent, after 1 week in theaters, also cooled down quickly when it only earned nearly 1.4 billion VND, bringing the total revenue to more than 12.6 billion VND.
