BHG - On the afternoon of March 10, the Central Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide held its third meeting and was connected online nationwide, chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Also attending and chairing the conference at the Government bridge were Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh. At the Ha Giang province bridge, the meeting was attended by comrades: Hau A Lenh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Thao Hong Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Phan Huy Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments, branches and sectors that are members of the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.

According to the report of the Central Steering Committee, up to now, the whole country has supported 121,638/223,164 houses, reaching more than 54%; of which more than 65 thousand houses have been inaugurated; more than 56 thousand houses have been newly built. In particular, some localities have many new and good ways to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses such as: Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Thai Binh, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Tien Giang, Can Tho, Soc Trang, Ca Mau... From now until the end of the year, the whole country must complete more than 101 thousand houses, on average the whole country must eliminate 459 houses per day, each locality must eliminate 8 houses per day.

In our province, as of March 9, 2025, the province has started construction of 3,093 houses. Of which, 2,843 houses were newly built and 250 houses were repaired. The number of houses completed and put into use is 2,081. Mobilized forces and people have participated in supporting nearly 71,800 working days; of which, the armed forces participated in nearly 14,000 working days . In terms of resources, up to now, our province has received support funding of 265.5 billion VND, including: Units under the Ministry of National Defense 254 billion VND, Loc Phat Commercial Joint Stock Bank 10 billion VND, Vietnam National Petroleum Group 1.5 billion VND. To achieve the above results, during the implementation process, our province has had many good ways such as: Mobilizing and supporting additional funding and materials for households to build houses suitable to the identity and customs of each ethnic group; mobilizing 100% of working days from people and families helping each other, so the cost is cheaper... Our province sets a goal of striving to complete in the second quarter of 2025, completing 100% of the houses under the Prime Minister's program.

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated and commended the drastic and effective participation of ministries, branches and localities in the implementation of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, which has so far brought about very specific and encouraging initial results.

The Prime Minister emphasized: The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide has profound humanistic significance, demonstrating the responsibility of the Party and State towards the people; demonstrating the spirit of "Repaying gratitude to those who have contributed", the spirit of "Mutual love; Great national unity; National love - compatriots' love". In that spirit, the Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to "Only discuss work, not backtrack", implement according to schedule, celebrate the country's major holidays; resolutely not let anyone live in temporary or dilapidated houses.

The Prime Minister was pleased to see that many good and effective ways have been implemented in the process of implementing the program. The Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to summarize and have plans to reward groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in the process of implementing the program; at the same time, have disciplinary measures for individuals and groups that are irresponsible, lack determination, and are not proactive and creative in implementing the program.

The Prime Minister also requested ministries, branches and localities to remove difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing the program, especially in terms of raw materials and land in mountainous, border and island areas. Leaders need to be pioneers and role models, grasp the situation, be flexible and creative in implementation; promote information and propaganda work, mobilize resources in the spirit of "whoever has merit helps merit, whoever has property helps property, whoever has something helps"; promote the strength of the people... Strive to basically complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses by October 30, 2025 according to the data registered by localities with the Central Government.
