Promoting the supervisory role of the Fatherland Front

The road to Trai Moi hamlet, Thuong Dinh commune (Phu Binh) was implemented to ensure technical and aesthetic standards, in accordance with the design, with the role of the Community Investment Supervision Board.

Walking with us on the 5.5m wide concrete road, with rows of trees on both sides, Mr. Duong Van Hanh, Secretary of the Party Cell of Trai Moi Hamlet, Thuong Dinh Commune (Phu Binh) shared: Previously, this road was only 3m wide, many sections were difficult for cars to avoid each other. Implementing the new rural construction program, we mobilized people to donate land to widen the road and corridor to plant trees, creating a fresh space. To start the implementation, the hamlet asked for people's opinions and sent members to the Community Supervision Board to supervise the project every day.

Up to now, after nearly 2 years of use, the road is spacious, ensures quality, and meets the travel needs of the people. This result is contributed by the members of the Community Supervision Board of the hamlet. - Mr. Duong Van Hanh

Mr. Duong Dinh Thang, Standing Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Thuong Dinh Commune, shared: Not only in Trai Moi but also in all hamlets with construction projects, the commune Fatherland Front has established a Community Supervision Board in accordance with regulations. Accordingly, dozens of works and projects on traffic roads, alley lighting, cultural houses... in the area are all supervised to ensure technical and aesthetic standards, in accordance with design documents, without any loss or waste affecting the interests of the community.

Similarly, for Phuc Thuan commune (Pho Yen city), in 2024, the locality strives to build a model new rural commune, so the State and the people join hands to build many projects such as: repairing cultural houses, intra-field canals, rural concrete roads. To create conditions for the Community Investment Supervision Board to collect relevant documents and information to serve effective supervision activities, the head of the board is invited to attend meetings of the People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee at the commune level.

Over the past 5 years, the Community Investment Supervision Board has attended 10 meetings of the People's Council and People's Committee of the commune related to the supervision task, more than 20 meetings of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee related to the organization and operation of the Board. Accordingly, the Community Investment Supervision Board has promptly detected and helped state management agencies at all levels and investors detect errors and inadequacies, avoid waste in the process of implementing projects, recommend adjustments to suit the actual situation, contributing to improving the efficiency and investment of projects in the area.

In localities in the province, many projects such as cultural houses, sports fields, etc. have been constructed with guaranteed quality thanks to the active contributions of community investment supervision boards.

Not only is it an important information channel to help local Party committees and authorities effectively manage investment capital and construction quality, but supervision activities at the grassroots level have created consensus and strengthened people's trust in the Party and the State. To improve the quality of supervision and social criticism activities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at all levels in the province have invited experienced experts in various fields to participate. At the same time, they have selected content and developed supervision plans that are appropriate to the actual situation and directly related to the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the people.

From 2021 to present, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at the provincial level have selected to supervise nearly 40 topics and commented on dozens of draft Resolutions of the Provincial People's Council. Thereby, many important contents have been proposed and recommended, contributing to helping agencies and units effectively implement the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies. The Community Investment Supervision Boards have organized the supervision of more than 2,500 projects and works. The supervision content focuses on issues such as: Implementation of grassroots democracy regulations, management and use of revenues, receiving citizens and handling complaints and denunciations, construction of basic construction works, etc.

In addition, the Fatherland Front at all levels organizes to receive opinions and recommendations from union members, association members and people through contact with voters of National Assembly deputies, People's Councils at all levels, and through direct dialogue with the people. From there, promptly make recommendations to competent authorities for timely and thorough resolution.

It can be affirmed that the supervision and social criticism work of the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province has recently received attention and focus and achieved many remarkable results. The quality of supervision activities is increasingly substantial, focusing on issues related to the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the people. Thereby, creating consensus among the people, contributing to the completion of socio-economic development goals and tasks.
