Over the past 99 years (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2024), the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press has continuously developed, integrated and innovated. Joining the "flow" of the national press, Lao Cai province's press agencies have always performed well their assigned functions and tasks, worthy of being the media and speech agencies of the Party Committee, the government and the forum of the People, and the vanguard force on the Party's ideological front.

During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh - the founder and originator of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism - affirmed: "Journalists are also revolutionary soldiers. Pens and paper are their sharp weapons." He also pointed out that the mission of journalism is to connect the Party, the State and the masses, to connect countries, and to help communities and peoples understand each other better. Therefore, he advised journalists to be extremely careful about form, content and writing style.
For journalists, President Ho Chi Minh required them to be both “red” and “professional”, the pen is a sharp weapon, the article is a revolutionary proclamation; the mission of journalists is important and glorious. To fulfill that mission well, one must strive to study politics, improve one’s ideology, stand firmly on the proletarian class position; must improve one’s cultural level, must delve deeply into one’s profession...
Studying and following the ideology, journalism style and teachings of Uncle Ho, in recent years, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Lao Cai province have always paid attention to leading, directing and prioritizing investment resources for the press sector. The province's information and press network has been constantly improved and modernized, covering from the province to the grassroots, with all types such as radio - television, print newspapers, electronic information, grassroots information; strongly innovating, improving the ability to apply and gradually catching up with the trend of modern press and media, especially the converged newsroom model.
Every year, Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee directs the issuance of regulations for the Press Awards on Party building, including the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award; anti-corruption, negativity, and waste; the political contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation; the Award "Press accompanies Lao Cai to continue to become a developed province in the Northern Midlands and Mountains" for the period 2021 - 2025. The Provincial People's Committee has also issued a plan to implement the Press Development and Management Plan until 2025, the Press Digital Transformation Strategy until 2025, with a vision to 2030.
Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee has directed and assigned the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department to orient propaganda activities, ensure and promote the role of the press in reporting current events, orienting information and public opinion in accordance with Party regulations and State laws. Agencies in the propaganda sector closely coordinate in promptly and effectively directing information and propaganda work on important events of the province and on the socio-economic development situation in the area. Annually, training conferences are organized to exchange professional journalism skills on Party building work, organize press conferences, provide information to the press, orient, grasp and synthesize press information on the internet and social networks, especially before important, complicated and sensitive cases that attract public opinion and the press. The work of speaking and providing information to the press has been increasingly carried out in a systematic and effective manner by departments, branches, localities and units, contributing to the good implementation of the political tasks of the province and the entire political system from the province to the grassroots level, creating high consensus in the whole society.
Maximizing the functions, tasks and reality of the province's innovation and development, the press agencies in the province always closely follow the direction and orientation, promptly and fully convey the guidelines and policies of the Party and the State; inform and propagate the fight against false and hostile viewpoints and information; promptly reflect comprehensive achievements in all fields; praise and spread many examples of good people - good deeds in all fields, regulations of the province to cadres, party members, armed forces, students and people of all walks of life.
Provincial press and media agencies, agencies, representative offices, and central press reporters residing in the province promote propaganda activities with many creative methods and diverse forms.
In particular, the province's press agencies including Lao Cai Newspaper, Provincial Radio and Television Station, Phan Si Pang Magazine, together with resident reporters in the province, have promoted their strengths, promptly published the full text of newly issued resolutions, directives and regulations of the Party; published in-depth articles by key leaders and experts analyzing new points, key solutions, breakthrough tasks, major orientations in resolutions, directives and conclusions of the Party; opened and maintained special pages and columns to propagate the Party congresses at all levels "Bringing the Party's resolutions into life"; "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style"; "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation"... with thousands of news, articles and photos.
A number of Lao Cai’s press, literature and art works participating in major central awards and competitions continue to win prizes. Thanks to that, the position, prestige and influence of local press are constantly affirmed and consolidated.

Towards the important event of 100 years of Vietnam Revolutionary Press (1925 - 2025), to promote the achieved results, effectively implement information and propaganda tasks to effectively serve the political tasks, socio-economic development of the province and the country in 2024 and the new period, the provincial press agencies, agencies, representative offices, and central press reporters residing in the province need to constantly strive to practice, strive, improve their capacity, qualifications, accumulate experience, always remind themselves to have "bright eyes, pure hearts, sharp pens"; worthy of being pioneers on the ideological and cultural front of the Party, State and People; always "accompanying" the development cause of the province.
Strengthening the propaganda of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; resolutions of Party congresses at all levels; socio-economic development policies of the province. In the context of many fluctuations in the world and domestic economy, the propaganda of the province's socio-economic development policies, programs and programs needs to be promoted. The press needs to provide timely and accurate information on major projects, agricultural and industrial promotion programs, thereby creating consensus and support from the people for the development of the province. In particular, focusing on propaganda on advising on the implementation and accelerating the progress of key projects in 2024 of the province, such as the Sa Pa Airport Project; upgrading the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway to a scale of 4 lanes; upgrading the national highway system in the province; connecting the railway from Lao Cai station (Vietnam) to Ha Khau Bac station (China)...
The press needs to step up propaganda on new rural construction and sustainable poverty reduction, especially the determination to successfully implement the goals and tasks of Resolution 10 dated August 26, 2021 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on the strategy for developing agricultural commodities in Lao Cai province to 2030, with a vision to 2050; promptly propagate and commend new rural models and examples of poverty reduction to spread the spirit and create motivation in the movement to build new rural areas and reduce poverty sustainably; strengthen foreign information, promote the image of Lao Cai culture and people to international friends as an important task in the context of increasingly deep international integration; focus on informing about cooperation and investment opportunities in Lao Cai to attract the attention of domestic and foreign investors and tourists.
Promote the important role of the press in building and protecting the Party's ideological foundation; supervise and provide social criticism of the press. Proactively improve competitiveness, fight against fake news, repel bad, toxic, false and distorted information so that official press information becomes the most important mainstream information in the digital space, contributing to building a healthy information society and protecting the purity of the Party. Articles and programs need to focus on propagating and educating Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought, and the core values of the Party and State. Promote the role of the press in supervising and providing social criticism to contribute to discovering and proposing solutions to problems and shortcomings in society...
