The People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province and the People's Committee of Da Nang city met to discuss coordination in managing, exploiting and promoting the value of Hai Van Quan relic.
Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh said that the coordination between the two sides is based on the principle of ensuring unity, synchronization, efficiency, and clearly assigning responsibilities to each agency and unit in presiding over, coordinating the management, protection and promotion of the value of Hai Van Quan relic, avoiding formalities and overlaps.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee, basically agreed with the draft Regulation on coordination of management, and assigned the Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports and the Hue Monuments Conservation Center to continue to collect opinions from relevant parties to complete it before submitting it to the leaders of the two localities for approval.
The current management plan for the relic during the period when tickets are not sold is considered reasonable and assigned to the People's Committee of Lien Chieu District to ensure security and order. When moving to the ticket selling phase, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center and the People's Committee of Lien Chieu District will take turns managing the relics every three years (the Hue Monuments Conservation Center will take over the first management session). The unit not directly managing the relics will send a monitoring team to monitor the implementation of the management.
In addition, the two localities also agreed to soon deploy auxiliary items, especially service logistics areas such as parking lots, public toilets and souvenir display spaces.
After a long period of restoration, Hai Van Quan relic site will open to visitors for free from August 1, 2024.
Hai Van Quan relic is located on the top of Hai Van Pass, the border between Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang. The Hue Monuments Conservation Center in coordination with the Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports started restoration and renovation in December 2021.
