Tien Giang: Tan Phong Bridge opens to traffic

According to Director of the Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board of Tien Giang Province, Tran Minh Trung, Tan Phong Bridge spans Tan Phong Islet, connecting Dong Hoa Hiep Commune (Cai Be District) and Tan Phong Commune (Cai Lay District). The project has a total investment of over VND239 billion; of which, the construction cost is over VND137 billion.

According to the design, the main bridge is more than 359 m long, including 9 spans; the bridge width is 9 m, the vertical clearance is 7 m, the horizontal clearance is 30 m; the design load is HL93. The access road is more than 1,400 m long; the design axle load is 10 tons. The road surface width is 7 m, the roadbed width is 9 m.

The road surface width at the bridge abutment section is 8 m wide, the roadbed is 9 m wide, equal to the bridge width. The road surface structure is asphalt on crushed stone aggregate; lighting system is arranged on the bridge and the bridge access road, and traffic safety system.

Director of the Tien Giang Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board Tran Minh Trung reported on the project's construction investment process.

The project is constructed by a joint venture between Thien Thuan Construction Trading Company Limited and 525 Construction Joint Stock Company.

After the investment policy was approved, the investor promptly coordinated with departments and branches of Tien Giang province to carry out investment and construction procedures. At the same time, coordinated with Cai Be and Cai Lay districts to carry out compensation and site clearance. The implementation process ensured compliance with regulations, promptly resolved problems and difficulties to ensure progress. The construction organization was carried out urgently, and the project has now been completed.

This is a relatively difficult construction project due to the long distance between transporting equipment and materials on land; having to transport by waterway, constructing bored piles and the entire lowering part on the river..., requiring the construction units to have good solutions and experience.

The construction unit has overcome difficulties, mobilized equipment and construction personnel appropriately to ensure timely completion and quality. The completion of Tan Phong Bridge, along with other projects, will contribute to the completion of traffic infrastructure, creating conditions for socio-economic development, ensuring security and defense for Cai Be and Cai Lay districts, especially Tan Phong commune does not have to cross the river by ferry.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Tan Phong bridge, Vice Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Trong, on behalf of the Provincial People's Committee, would like to warmly commend the project investor; project management consultant; design consultant; supervision consultant; construction unit and Cai Lay and Cai Be districts for focusing on site clearance, mobilizing resources, promptly removing obstacles, organizing continuous construction, ensuring quality and completion progress to put the project into operation, use and serve the people.

At the same time, the Provincial People's Committee warmly welcomed and commended the people in the project construction area, for the common good, for actively supporting and agreeing with the investment policy to build Tan Phong bridge, promptly handing over the site, creating favorable conditions for the implementation of construction to complete on schedule.

To promote the efficiency of exploitation and use of this project, provincial departments, branches and localities continue to improve the efficiency of exploitation for vehicles on traffic routes in the area, meeting the travel needs of people, attracting investment, promoting economic development for Cai Lay and Cai Be districts and neighboring areas.

At the same time, well implement traffic organization, regular maintenance and repair management, effectively exploit works, ensure road and waterway traffic safety and environmental sanitation.

When Tan Phong Bridge is put into operation, traffic volume through Provincial Road 864 will increase. The functional departments of the People's Committee of Cai Lay and Cai Be districts must regularly inspect, protect, propagate and mobilize people not to encroach on the roadway and sidewalks, ensuring smooth and safe traffic.
