NDO - On the morning of December 6, in Quy Nhon city (Binh Dinh province), the Vietnam Rencontres du Vietnam and the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) in collaboration with LOBI Vietnam organized the “3rd Vietnam School of Biology” (VSOB-3) with the theme “Bioinformatics Analysis of RNA-seq Data”. The event attracted more than 40 experts, graduate students and young scientists in the fields of biology and biotechnology.

Biotechnology, especially Bioinformatics, plays a key role in research and application in fields such as Agriculture, Medicine and Environment. Bioinformatics not only promotes breakthroughs in science and technology but also contributes to the sustainable development of Vietnam's economy.

Vietnam School of Biology (VSOB) is held annually to provide knowledge, techniques and research methods in this field, creating a forum for prestigious Vietnamese and international experts to share advances in research and application.

Experts share advances in biotechnology research and applications.

This year, VSOB-3 focuses on the topic of “Bioinformatics Analysis of RNA-seq Data”, combining theory and practice. RNA-seq is a powerful tool in modern biological research, allowing analysis of the entire transcriptome of a biological sample with high accuracy.

This process converts RNA into complementary DNA and sequences it, providing detailed information about gene expression, helping scientists explore complex biological mechanisms and develop applications in medicine, agriculture, and many other fields.

This is an opportunity for young scientists and graduate students to access the latest knowledge and techniques in the field of Bioinformatics.

In addition to training activities, VSOB-3 also had the participation of domestic and foreign experts with important sharing sessions. Dr. Deeksha Bhartiya, Director of Genomiki Solutions, India presented on “Beyond the Basics: Innovative Applications of RNA Sequencing in Research”.

Dr. Vo Sy Nam, Director of the Center for Biomedical Informatics, Vingroup Big Data Research Institute (VinBigdata), affiliated lecturer at the Institute of Engineering and Computer Science (VinUniversity) also shared about "Functional analysis of multi-omics data in the Vietnam Genome Program".

VSOB-3 maintains the principle of “Practice on real data” with the goal of “Students performing Bioinformatics analysis from basic to advanced”. Thanks to that, even students with no experience and knowledge of Bioinformatics can still participate in the course and acquire the necessary knowledge.

The 3rd Vietnam School of Biology is not only an opportunity for young scientists and graduate students to access the latest knowledge and techniques in the field of Bioinformatics, but also an opportunity to exchange and learn from leading experts.

With continuous efforts, this event will certainly contribute positively to the development of biotechnology and sustainable economy of Vietnam.
