Provincial People's Committee leaders work with the Department of Agriculture and Environment

Dien Bien TV - On the afternoon of April 2, at the Department of Agriculture and Environment, comrade Pham Duc Toan, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and comrade Lo Van Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had a working session with the Department of Agriculture and Environment on the results of implementing tasks in the first quarter; tasks and solutions for the second quarter, 2025 and the work of reorganizing the apparatus after the merger.

In the first quarter of 2025, the leadership of the Department of Agriculture and Environment was united, proactive, and flexible in direction and operation; effectively implemented the organization arrangement, and did not interrupt professional work after the merger.

Specifically, the organizational structure of the Department has been reduced from 31 to 19, equivalent to a reduction of 38.7%. The departments, branches and centers under the Department have been arranged with civil servants and public employees to work reasonably. Along with that, difficulties and problems in professional work as well as infrastructure and facilities serving the profession have been resolved quickly.

The work of developing agricultural production and protecting the environment has been closely directed. Crops and livestock in the province continue to grow steadily; in the field of cultivation, the Department has issued 6 growing area codes for crops such as rice, jackfruit, grapefruit, and coffee with a total area of over 18 hectares; the smart rice cultivation model, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, has been deployed in the districts of Dien Bien, Muong Ang, and Tuan Giao with a total area of 85.86 hectares, attracting the active participation of the people.

Leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment clarified some difficulties and obstacles in performing tasks.

In the field of natural resources and environment, the Department has actively implemented many solutions, focusing on solutions to improve efficiency in water resources management, environmental protection and licensing of mineral exploitation activities.

Speaking at the meeting, the leader of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to do some things such as: Develop and review the plan to implement the Department's key tasks in 2025 after the merger to organize and implement; focus on advising on policies and mechanisms for areas under the management of the sector, especially the policy on developing organic rice production; expand the area of tea trees developed in the direction of high technology; need to receive management and operation of water works that are public assets; pay attention to planting scattered trees in the outer and border communes of Dien Bien district...

Promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee to have a plan to deploy and promptly respond to natural disasters; speed up the completion of documents and procedures to start the construction of the coffee processing factory in Tuan Giao district./.
