According to the reporter's records, 1 of 5 newly built ferries added to Dong Bai ferry terminal to serve the transportation of passengers, vehicles of tourists and residents to Cat Ba island and vice versa, has docked.
The first ferry to dock at Dong Bai ferry terminal was numbered HP 6139 with the name Cat Ba 03, 58m long and 15m wide.
According to design, the new ferry has a load capacity of nearly 200 tons, can carry 500 passengers, 9 47-seat cars, 40 motorbikes... and is expected to help reduce traffic congestion on the journey to Cat Ba Island.
The ferry roof area is where passengers can stand and admire the sea and island scenery.

Dong Bai ferry terminal (Cat Hai district) officially came into operation on March 1, replacing Got ferry terminal 4km away, continuing its mission of transporting people, tourists and vehicles from the mainland through Lach Huyen to Cat Ba island and vice versa.
However, as soon as it came into operation, the new ferry terminal revealed some shortcomings due to incomplete infrastructure, especially the old ferries were no longer suitable for the new, modern ferry terminal...
Recently, during peak tourist days, there have been prolonged local traffic jams at the ferry terminal. Five new ferries with a total investment of about 130 billion VND are expected to solve this traffic jam problem.
