The People's Committee of Quang Ngai province has just issued Decision No. 757/QD-UBND signed on June 21, 2024 approving the acceptance of the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Program for 126 medical staff in Quang Ngai province sponsored by Operation Smile, Inc. (OS) in 2024.
The objective of the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Program for Medical Staff in Quang Ngai Province is to provide training for provincial and district medical staff in Quang Ngai Province to share knowledge, techniques and professional skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation with doctors and medical volunteers invited by Operation Smile to participate in the program.

The results of the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Program licensed by the American Heart Association (AHA) to Operation Smile will update knowledge of basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation currently applied worldwide for 126 medical staff in Quang Ngai province in various emergency situations for newborns, children and adults, contributing to supporting the health sector in its efforts to improve safety standards and treatment quality for the people of the province.
In addition, all students participating in the program and completing the course objectives will be awarded a certificate from AHA - one of the largest and most prestigious associations in the world and a globally recognized certificate.
The main activities of the Program taking place from June 22-28 include: Organizing 05 basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS) and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation (PALS) training courses for 126 provincial and district health workers in Quang Ngai province to have the opportunity to share knowledge, techniques and professional skills with doctors and medical volunteers invited by Operation Smile to participate in the Program.
Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Health to direct its affiliated units, including: Quang Ngai Provincial General Hospital, Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Hospital, Traditional Medicine Hospital, Mental Hospital, Endocrinology Hospital, Dang Thuy Tram Regional General Hospital, Medical Centers of the districts: Binh Son, Tu Nghia, Mo Duc, Duc Pho town, Nghia Hanh, Ba To, Minh Long, Son Ha, Tra Bong, Son Tay, Ly Son to send medical staff to attend training according to the program's criteria.
Operation Smile began operating in Vietnam in 1988 when retired General John W. Vessey invited Operation Smile to send a team of medical education experts to Vietnam as part of the MIA/POW Program in an effort to normalize relations between the United States and Vietnam. In addition to the goal of providing free treatment and bringing smiles to children, Operation Smile, through organized programs such as: The American Heart Association's Emergency Resuscitation Training Program, specialized medical seminars, annual conferences for medical professionals... Operation Smile also aims to create conditions to help Vietnamese doctors improve their professional skills and learn from foreign colleagues. |
