Former President Trump wrote an email to donors saying he "will never surrender" after the September 15 assassination attempt.
"There have been shots fired near me but before the rumors start to spread out of control, I want you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND FINE!", Mr. Trump wrote in an email to donors on September 15, according to The Hill .
Mr. Trump raised his fist at a rally in Nevada on September 13.
Earlier, police arrested a suspect after a shooting at Trump International Golf Club, the former president’s golf course in Florida. Police said US Secret Service agents spotted a rifle barrel protruding from a mesh fence and responded, firing at least four shots at around 1:30 p.m. on September 15.
The suspect fled in his car but was caught on the road. At the scene, police found an AK-47-like rifle with a scope, two backpacks containing ceramic tiles, a video camera and other items. The suspect was a few hundred meters away from Mr. Trump.

According to CNN, the FBI announced that it is investigating what appears to be an assassination plot against former President Trump.
"Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER! I will always love you for supporting me," Mr. Trump wrote in the letter.
Earlier, Trump campaign communications director Steven Cheung said the former president was safe after shots were fired near his location.
Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said on social media that his agency is working with Palm Beach County police to review a "protection incident involving former President Donald Trump that occurred shortly before 2 p.m."

Vice President Kamala Harris, who is running against Mr Trump in the White House race, wrote on X that she had been informed of the shooting near the former President. "I am glad he is safe. There is no place for violence in America," the Democratic candidate wrote.
Meanwhile, the White House issued a statement saying that President Joe Biden and Vice President Harris had been informed about the security incident and were "relieved that Mr. Trump was safe."
President Biden has directed that the Secret Service has the resources and protective measures necessary to ensure the former president’s safety. Mr. Biden and Ms. Harris are both in Washington DC, not attending any events on September 15 and will be updated.
Senator JD Vance, Mr Trump's running mate, said he was glad Mr Trump was safe. "I spoke to him before the news broke and he is surprisingly in good spirits. There is still a lot we don't know but I will hold my children extra tight tonight and say a prayer of gratitude," Mr Vance wrote on X.
Similarly, Trump ally Senator Lindsey Graham said he had been in touch after the incident and the former president was in good spirits.
Rep. Michael Waltz, a Florida Republican, has asked the Secret Service to brief Congress this week on the alleged assassination attempt. Waltz is a member of a bipartisan congressional task force investigating the July 13 assassination attempt on Trump in Pennsylvania. "As I have said before, the July 13 assassination was not an isolated incident that we can afford to spend time investigating while threats continue at home and abroad," Waltz wrote.
It is unclear whether the September 15 incident will affect Mr. Trump’s schedule. The Republican candidate is scheduled to speak online from Florida about digital currencies on the evening of September 16, according to The Guardian . He will attend a town hall meeting with Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders in Flint, Michigan on September 17. He will then campaign in Long Island, New York on September 18.
