On August 2, Tay Ninh marked the milestone of welcoming the 4 millionth visitor taking the cable car up Ba Den Mountain since the beginning of 2024, affirming itself as one of the top tourist destinations in the South.

According to the Sun World Ba Den Mountain Tourist Area, the number of visitors taking the cable car to Ba Den Mountain continues to increase sharply compared to 2023. If by the end of 2023, Ba Den Mountain welcomed 5 million visitors taking the cable car to Ba Den Mountain, then on August 2, 2024, the tourist area welcomed the 4 millionth visitor. This is a positive sign that the number of visitors to Ba Den Mountain this year promises to increase significantly.

Ms. Dao Thi Viet, Deputy Director of Sun World Ba Den Mountain said: “Welcoming the 4 millionth visitor after only the first 7 months of the year is a special milestone for us. We would like to express our deep gratitude to the people of Tay Ninh and visitors for their love for the highest mountain in the South.”

From early afternoon on August 2, a large number of tourists lined up at the cable car station of Ba Den Mountain to make a pilgrimage to the hundreds of years old Ba Pagoda system and the majestic spiritual works on the top of the mountain. Here, the tourist area announced the 4 millionth lucky visitor, Mr. Tran Van Dau from Ho Chi Minh City, with the prize of 2 unlimited cable car passes in 2024.

In addition to the prize for the luckiest guest, the resort also awarded prizes to the two guests immediately before and after the 4 millionth guest, with the prize being an unlimited cable car pass in 2024.

Sharing when receiving the award, Mr. Tran Van Dau said: “Today will probably be the day I will remember forever in my life when I first came to Ba Den Mountain and I received a very surprising gift. With this year's cable car card, I will definitely continue to return to worship this sacred mountain many times this year.”

With its majestic natural scenery, Ba Den Mountain is known as the “first mountain in heaven” and is a healing destination for millions of domestic and foreign tourists every year. This August, many tourists come to Ba Den Mountain to hunt for rare cloud phenomena such as lenticular clouds (cloud caps, flying saucer clouds), dragon scale clouds, sea of ​​clouds, etc.

In particular, August is also the time when thousands of Buddhists and tourists come to Ba Den Mountain to attend the Vu Lan season - an important Buddhist festival to show respect and gratitude to parents. This year's Vu Lan season, Ba Den Mountain organizes many sacred rituals such as worshiping ceremonies, flower pinning ceremony on the chest, or tea meditation to listen to monks talk about filial piety.

In particular, the grand ceremony of offering lanterns to commemorate and pray for peace for parents will be held on Saturday evening, August 24 (July 21) at the square at the foot of the tallest Buddha statue in Asia, Tay Bo Da Son, located on the top of the mountain. At the highest mountain in the South, offering lanterns is a sacred ritual with its own unique characteristics, taking place every Saturday evening and on major holidays, with each lantern having a wish written by the visitors themselves to offer to the Buddha.

To express gratitude and create favorable conditions for people and tourists to go to Ba Den Mountain during Vu Lan season, Sun World Ba Den Mountain tourist area offers a discount on cable car tickets after 5 p.m. to only 200,000 VND, applicable from August 1 to September 30, 2024.

Right after Vu Lan season, Ba Den mountain will start the Mid-Autumn Festival season - an important festival of Tay Ninh people when associated with the Dieu Tri Palace Festival at the Holy See, attracting millions of Cao Dai followers from all over the country.

With a series of large-scale festivals from now until the end of the year, along with continuous investment in high-class tourism products while still preserving the soul and long-standing spiritual cultural values ​​of the sacred mountain, the national tourist area of ​​Ba Den Mountain is expected to exceed the plan to welcome 5.5 million visitors in 2024.
