7th grade girl was beaten by her friends and hospitalized

On September 19, Mr. Tran Thanh Giang, Principal of Chau Van Liem Secondary School (Ward 4, Vi Thanh City, Hau Giang), confirmed that there was an incident where a group of female students from this school beat up a classmate at a park in Vi Thanh City.

Student D. held his head when his schoolmate hit him with a helmet.

The student who was beaten was CTMD (class 7A5); the group of students who beat their friend were TTNH (class 7A7), NGH (7A5, all students at Chau Van Liem Secondary School) and a student from outside the school named HHN.

Before that, D. and a group of friends from the same school played together. A small conflict related to posting pictures on social media led to a fight.

According to Mr. Giang, the incident in which the female students fought occurred on September 16. After being beaten, D. did not report the incident to her homeroom teacher or her family. By the afternoon of September 17, the school knew about the incident and invited the parents to come to the meeting. After the mediation was completed on the morning of September 18, no complaints were made by either party.

However, D.'s family later saw a clip of her being beaten by her friends and reported the incident to the local police. After being beaten, D. had a headache and was taken to the Hau Giang Province Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital by her family. The school went to the hospital to directly inquire about the health of the female student.

A representative of the Board of Directors of Chau Van Liem Secondary School said that the school will hold a meeting to consider how to handle these students according to regulations to deter students and prevent similar incidents from happening.

Previously, a clip appeared on social media recording a scene at a park in a residential area in Vi Tan commune, Vi Thanh city, where a student was beaten with a helmet by his schoolmates (in uniform) and a female student outside the school. According to Thanh Nien reporters, this clip has now been removed.
