MSc. Dr. Nguyen Dang Quan, Deputy Head of the Intensive Care Department, Central Endocrinology Hospital, said that Dr. Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh (born in 1991, Hematology Department of the hospital) has now stopped having a fever, her consciousness has improved, her consciousness assessment score when she was first transferred to the hospital was only 6 points, now it has increased to about 8 - 9 points, and she has a breathing rhythm. It is expected that this week Dr. Linh will practice weaning herself off the ventilator.

The most recent CT scan also shows that the hemorrhages have decreased by 2/3, the size from 3cm to 1cm, and the brain swelling has also decreased significantly. "Doctor Linh has shown positive signs of progress. However, this battle is still very long, it will take a long time to recover," said Dr. Quan.

According to Dr. Quan, Dr. Linh's positive progress today is thanks to the great efforts of the hospital's leadership, all department leaders and medical staff in the hospital, especially the determination and efforts of Dr. Linh's family and relatives.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Duy - Dr. Linh's husband - said that recently the family brought their two young children to visit their mother. When Linh saw the children, she looked at them, blinked continuously, and moved her mouth as if she wanted to talk to them.

After the recent 30/4-1/5 holiday, before returning to Hanoi to work at the Central Endocrinology Hospital, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh had a seizure, blood continuously flowing from her mouth. Her family took her to the local hospital for emergency treatment and then transferred her to Bach Mai Hospital (Hanoi).

Doctors diagnosed Ms. Linh with a cerebral hemorrhage, with a very serious prognosis. She was treated intensively, intubated, put on a ventilator, and had her temperature lowered, but her condition remained serious. After a short period of treatment at Bach Mai Hospital, Dr. Linh was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit, Central Endocrinology Hospital for continued monitoring and treatment.
