Decree 73 of the Government stipulates the regime of extraordinary bonuses and bonuses based on the level of task completion. This is the first time civil servants and public employees have received this amount. Depending on the scale, schools will receive an additional 10% of the salary fund (excluding allowances) to be distributed to teachers, before January 31, 2025.
Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Dung, Principal of Duong Lieu Secondary School (Hoai Duc - Hanoi) said that the school has developed internal regulations for distributing rewards.
According to Ms. Dung, the school bases its decision on the level of task completion, based on criteria such as labor discipline and work efficiency. The coefficients calculated for excellent, good and successful completion are not too far apart.
"This reward is not much but it is a recognition for the teachers. The school tries to make sure everyone is happy and not separated from each other," said the principal.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thinh, Vice Principal of Phu Xuyen Secondary School in Hanoi, said that the school's board of directors and accountants had calculated according to Decree 73 of the Government, which stipulates the regime of extraordinary bonuses and the level of task completion. At this time, money was paid to teachers.
Ms. Do Thi Linh (Hanoi), a Chemistry-Biology teacher, said that every year, depending on the school's situation, teachers receive a Tet bonus of 1 to 2 million VND. This year, the amount could be doubled thanks to Decree 73.
"According to the content of the teachers' meeting announced by the school board, this year most teachers are classified as excellent or good, receiving about 5-6 million VND, while those who complete their tasks will receive a little lower than this level," said this teacher.
Many other schools also apply similar bonus distribution methods, but with different coefficients. Khuong Thuong Secondary School (Hanoi) expects each teacher to receive about 4 to more than 5 million VND.
“Last year, the total amount of Tet bonuses received ranged from 15-20 million VND/teacher. We teachers hope that with the first bonus under Decree 73, the total amount received will be higher,” said a teacher at Khuong Thuong School.
Teacher Do Thi Tinh, an IT teacher in the Hoai Duc area - Hanoi, shared that currently teachers in the school are hoping that the bonus according to Decree 73 will be higher.
“I heard that the board of directors has developed a bonus plan. Those who complete their tasks will receive a coefficient of 0.9, those who complete well will receive 1, and those who complete excellently will receive 1.2. So this year, each teacher can receive 2.5-6 million VND,” Ms. Tinh said.
Phenikaa Inter-level School will pay teachers a 13th month salary as a Tet bonus. Thus, the teacher's bonus ranges from 5 to more than 10 million depending on the teacher.
A teacher at Archimedes School shared that the Tet bonus for the school's staff and teachers will be based on the classification of excellent, good, and satisfactory performance levels as in previous years.
Specifically, teachers who complete their work at an excellent level will be rewarded with a full month's salary. Teachers who complete their work at a good level will receive 70% of their 13th month's salary, while teachers who complete their work at a satisfactory level will only receive half a month's basic salary.
Therefore, the bonus of school teachers will depend on their position and level of work completion. The bonus ranges from 12 million to about 20 million VND.
A teacher who has worked for more than 20 years at a high school in Ha Tinh shared that in the past few years, the total amount of money received during Tet was only around 1.8 million VND: "We teachers hope this year it will be higher so we have money to buy things for Tet."
Some universities and high schools across the country have announced the Lunar New Year bonus for 2025. Accordingly, some schools will give bonuses of several tens of millions, while the remaining public schools will only give bonuses of a few million VND.
