Just a year ago, the family of Ms. Hoang Thi Hoan in Ban Giac, Hoa Muc commune (Cho Moi) was still living in a dilapidated house. Every time it rained heavily or the wind was strong, only the bedroom did not leak.
Every winter, the dilapidated house is not warm enough for the family. As a farmer, the money she earns is only enough to get by, not saving much, so Mrs. Hoan doesn't know when she will have enough money to build a new house.
In mid-2023, Ms. Hoan's family received support from the province to build a new house, and from there, their long-standing wish gradually became a reality. With money, the family put in effort, neighbors, and organizations in the village and commune supported additional working days, and the new house was gradually completed.
Right before the New Year of the Dragon 2024, the new house was completed. This is also the first spring that Ms. Hoan and her family members can celebrate Tet in a spacious new house.
Mr. Nong Dinh Tuyen's family in Na Man village, Phuong Vien commune (Cho Don) has 4 members, his wife is sick all year round. Mr. Tuyen has to take his children to school, work for hire and do farm work. After many years of use, the family's house has seriously deteriorated.
In 2024, the family received support to build a new house. Up to now, Mr. Tuyen's spacious house has been completed, the house is 100m2 wide, has a flat roof, has 3 bedrooms, 1 living room and 1 kitchen.
Mr. Tuyen said that the cost of building the house was 170 million VND, of which nearly 50 million VND was supported, the rest the family borrowed an additional 90 million VND from policy credit, the rest was saved money and borrowed from relatives. The villagers also supported extra working days so that he could build the new house.

Faced with the situation where many poor households do not have residential land or have land but do not have land use right certificates, Bac Kan province has issued a policy to support 100% of the cost of surveying and establishing cadastral records when the State allocates land, leases land, changes land use purposes, and issues land use right certificates and property ownership rights attached to land for ethnic minorities.
Individuals who are ethnic minorities and do not have residential land shall be allocated land or have their land use purpose changed from other types of land to residential land within the limit and shall be exempted from land use fees.
In case of lack of residential land compared to the land allocation limit, the land use purpose can be changed from other land types to residential land and land use fees will be exempted for the area within the allocation limit.
