Việt NamViệt Nam06/04/2025

Former Party Chairman and President of the Lao PDR, Khamtay Siphandone, was not only an outstanding leader in the cause of liberating and developing Laos, but also played an important role in strengthening the special friendship between Laos and Vietnam, in which cooperation in the field of education and training stood out. The passing of the former Lao President left behind endless sorrow for Lao students studying in Son La.

Lao students studying at Son La College could not hide their emotions when hearing the news of the passing of Comrade Khamtay Siphandone, former Party Chairman and former President of the Lao PDR. For them, the passing of an outstanding leader is also a profound reminder of the responsibility of the younger generation towards the development of the country.

Student Thong La Ni Vong Phim Pha, Son La College: As Lao students studying in Vietnam, when we heard the news of the former President's passing, we were deeply saddened. This is a great loss for the Party, State and people of all Lao ethnic groups. We will remember the contributions of the former President and will try to study hard to return to build our homeland Laos to be prosperous and strong as the former President of Laos wished.

Overseas student Khon Pha Chan Sy Mit Ni Lan, Son La College: Former President Khamtay Sipphandone was a simple leader, wholeheartedly devoted to the Party, the country, and the people, a shining example for our young generation to follow. We will continue to strive to complete our immediate task of studying well so that when we return to our country, we can contribute to the development of Laos.

The contributions of President Khamtay Siphandone to the Vietnam - Laos relationship are extremely important, creating a solid foundation for the development of the two countries, making the Vietnam - Laos relationship a model of pure and loyal international solidarity in the new era. Comprehensive cooperation in all fields, including education and training, is a vivid demonstration of the relationship between the two countries. That golden page of history is being continued by the young generation today through their efforts in studying, improving their qualifications, and contributing to the development of the country.

Student Chan Tha Phon Bun Phua, Son La College: As a Laotian student studying at Son La College, I will always try my best, study hard and practice ethics so that in the future I can return to build my homeland to become more and more beautiful, and at the same time be a bridge to contribute to preserving and nurturing the great friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos to be forever green and sustainable.

In recent years, the training and fostering of cadres and human resources for the Lao PDR in Son La province has been increasingly developed in quantity and quality. From 2001 to present, Son La province has trained nearly 2,300 Lao students to graduate from intermediate, college, university and master's degrees; nearly 4,000 Lao students have been trained in Vietnamese. These are quality human resources, contributing to building a prosperous and strong Laos as the wish of former Party Chairman and former President of Laos Khamtay Siphandone./.
