Luong Son commune has achieved the standards of an advanced NTM commune. In addition to the synchronously invested infrastructure system, local agricultural production has developed in the direction of commodities, bringing high economic value. This result has had a significant contribution from the Saemaul Tan Lap 2 Agricultural Service and Trade Cooperative in linking production, accumulating land to build concentrated crop areas.
Comrade To Van Cuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Luong Son Commune, said: According to the roadmap for building a commune that meets advanced NTM standards, criterion number 13 must have an effective cooperative and a production linkage contract according to the value chain. Therefore, the establishment of a cooperative is not simply to meet the NTM criteria according to regulations, but also to promote the effectiveness of the cooperative's operations.

After being consolidated with 22 members, Saemaul Tan Lap 2 Agricultural Service and Trade Cooperative was supported by the Provincial People's Committee with qualified young human resources to work. The Cooperative has innovated and improved its operational efficiency, including providing seeds, materials, fertilizers, agricultural machinery and equipment, introducing mechanization into production, forming a large-scale field with an area of 100 hectares, producing rice associated with product consumption linkage. Thereby, not only exploiting the potential and advantages of the locality but also helping cooperative members and households to link up to develop agriculture in a sustainable direction, contributing to the locality's goal of building a commune that meets the standards of an advanced NTM commune.
Since its inception in 2017 with 25 members, My Son Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative has been supported by the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance with 600 million VND to buy 1 land preparation machine and 1 straw rolling machine to serve production. Over the past time, the Cooperative has continuously expanded and improved the quality of its services, effectively implementing its production and business plans. The Cooperative has signed a contract with an enterprise to produce 150 hectares of seed corn, with an annual purchase output of over 350 tons. At the same time, it has planted 10 hectares of apples according to VietGAP technical process, linked with the Hanoi OCOP Cooperative Alliance and agents in Ho Chi Minh City to purchase products, supplying over 150 tons to the market each year. Mr. Luong A Sang in Phu Thanh village, My Son commune, one of the households participating in the corn seed production association, said: My family has 7 sao of land, at first I hesitated to join the association because I was worried about the difficulty in accessing new farming techniques. However, thanks to the cooperative providing seeds, fertilizers, and technical guidance, I applied the correct production process, so the corn yield was high, reaching 8-9 quintals/sao. The products were purchased by the cooperative, so there was no need to worry about output or price, so my family could produce with peace of mind.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong, Director of My Son Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative, said: Currently, the Cooperative is cooperating with 200 households in the area to grow corn and apples. Contributing to the locality to build a commune that meets advanced NTM standards in 2023, the Cooperative continuously invests in agricultural machinery, applies science and technology, and links production to ensure stable product output for people and help the Cooperative operate effectively, with revenue reaching over 3 billion VND/year.
The effective operation of cooperatives shows that if developed in the right direction, it will be a driving force for the process of building new rural areas in localities. Cooperatives will promote the role of gathering, mobilizing, changing the way of thinking, the way of doing, effectively applying scientific and technical advances, improving production efficiency for people, especially implementing well joint ventures and associations with enterprises, creating stable output for agricultural products. At the same time, effective cooperatives will help localities complete criterion No. 13 in building communes that meet new rural standards, advanced new rural standards and model new rural standards.
Comrade Nguyen Duc Hoa, Vice Chairman of Ninh Son District People's Committee, said: Up to now, there are 12 cooperatives in the district; of which, there are 10 cooperatives in the agricultural sector, 1 small-scale industrial cooperative, 1 construction and general service cooperative. With the goal of striving to build 2 communes meeting NTM standards and 3 communes meeting advanced NTM standards by 2025, in the coming time, the district will continue to consolidate and develop the collective economy, in which the core is cooperatives; support and encourage cooperatives to build production linkage models with enterprises according to the value chain.
