The International Doping Control Agency (ITA) said Iraqi judo athlete Sajjad Sehen is the first athlete to test positive for doping at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Sehen's sample was taken in Paris on July 23 and announced on July 26.

The 28-year-old tested positive for metandienone and boldenone, both banned substances. These are two steroids that can help improve physical performance, increase performance and increase protein assimilation. Sehen is scheduled to compete in the men's 81kg class on July 30. He has been paired with Uzbekistan in the round of 16.
The remaining case is Dominican Republic female volleyball player - Lisvel Eve. The main striker born in 1991 was found positive for Furosemide, a banned substance in the list of the International Anti-Doping Agency.
The banned substance was found in a medication that Lisvel Eve used while competing in the Nations League volleyball tournament last month. Geraldine González will replace Lisvel Eve in the Dominican Republic's squad for women's volleyball at this year's Olympics.
Previously, ITA confirmed that 90% of athletes participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics had been tested for doping.
