The first candidates to take the V-SAT exam at Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City this year
Today (March 31), Ho Chi Minh City Banking University organized the first round of the computer-based university entrance exam for enrollment in 2024 (V-SAT exam). Accordingly, out of 571 candidates registered for the first round, nearly 300 candidates officially took the exam with a total of 823 exams.
Candidates focused on the following subjects: math (243 candidates), English (180), physics (179), followed by chemistry, history, geography and biology.
According to the school representative, compared to the first round last year, the number of candidates taking the exam has increased by more than 15%. In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City Banking University will reserve 10-15% of the admission quota for the V-SAT results for both the semi-regular English university program and 30-40% of the quota for the standard regular university program.
In 2024, the V-SAT exam of Ho Chi Minh City Banking University will be held in 4 rounds including 7 subjects: math, physics, chemistry, English, history, geography and biology. The registration period for round 3 is from April 1 to April 19 and round 4 is from April 22 to May 3.
According to the signed document, the results of this V-SAT exam will be used to consider admission to 6 universities including: Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, Thai Nguyen University, Can Tho University, Saigon University, University of Finance and Marketing and Banking Academy.
V-SAT exam results are used for admission to many universities this year.
Meanwhile, the University of Finance and Marketing has just announced details of its regular university admission method in 2024, in which for the first time it will use the results of the V-SAT exam for admission.
Method 1 : Direct admission and priority admission for up to 2% of the quota for each major according to each training program. This method is applied sequentially from top to bottom according to the following subjects: direct admission, direct admission, priority admission for candidates with achievements in exams, and policy candidates. Candidates can register an unlimited number of wishes but will only be considered for admission to the wish with the highest priority order.
Method 2 : Consider students with good high school results, up to 43% of the training quota for each training program. In which, priority is expected to be given to candidates in category 1 at 15%, categories 2 and 3 at 25%, and candidates in category 4 at 3%.
Admission category 1: High school graduates in 2024 with excellent academic performance in grade 10, grade 11, semester 1 of grade 12.
Admission category 2: Students who have completed and graduated from high school in 2024 at specialized and gifted schools under the province/city/university have an average score of each subject in the admission combination of grade 10, grade 11, semester 1 of grade 12 from 7.0 points or higher.
Admission category 3: High school graduates in 2024 who won first, second, or third prizes in excellent student competitions, science and technology competitions at the provincial/municipal level or higher, or who are members of the school/province/municipal team participating in the national excellent student competition, national science and technology competition with an average score of each subject in the admission combination of grade 10, grade 11, and semester 1 of grade 12 from 6.0 points or higher. Not applicable to students who won prizes in school/provincial/municipal Olympic competitions, excellent student competitions solving math problems on Casio calculators.
Admission category 4: High school graduates in 2024 with an international English IELTS score of 5.5 or higher (or equivalent international English certificate) or an English certificate of level 4/6 or higher according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework for Vietnam and good academic performance or higher in grade 10, grade 11, semester 1 of grade 12.
Candidates can register an unlimited number of wishes and the wishes are ranked in order of priority. The school considers admission in order from admission category 1 to admission category 4 according to admission scores from high to low and considers equality between registered wishes in the same industry. In each admission category, candidates are only admitted to the highest priority wish possible in the list of registered wishes.
Method 3: Consider high school academic results according to subject combinations, maximum 5% of the quota for each major. This method applies to high school graduates in 2024, 2023, 2022 with an average total score of subjects in the admission combination of grade 10, grade 11, semester 1 of grade 12 of 18 points or higher.
Method 4 : Admission based on the results of the 2024 Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam, applying up to 25% of the quota for each major.
Method 5: Admission based on the results of the computer-based entrance exam (V-SAT) for 2024 enrollment of schools that have signed an agreement with the University of Finance - Marketing (maximum 5% of the quota for each major).
High school graduates register to take the exam and have the results of the computer-based entrance exam (V-SAT) for the 2024 enrollment of the schools that have signed with the school, including: Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon University, Can Tho University, Banking Academy and Thai Nguyen University.
Please note that the school only accepts applications for admission from candidates who have taken the exam and have completed all the exam results for the subjects/tests according to the school's admission combination in the rounds of the computer-based entrance assessment test (V-SAT) for admission in 2024 before the deadline for submitting application for admission to the school.
Method 6 : Admission based on high school graduation exam results (remaining quota).

According to Master Nguyen Thi Kim Phung, Deputy Director of the Center for Admissions and Corporate Relations of the University of Finance and Marketing, the newest point in the school's admission method in 2024 is the admission method based on the computer-based entrance exam (V-SAT).
