While riding motorbikes on the road leading to Tan Son Nhat airport, many people in Ho Chi Minh City slipped and fell because they ran over oil spilled on the road from a passenger bus.
At around 4:00 p.m. this afternoon (February 12), a passenger bus with a foreign license plate was traveling on Cong Hoa Street towards the center of Ho Chi Minh City.
When the vehicle reached the intersection with Ut Tich Street, Ward 4, Tan Binh District (HCMC), it spilled oil all over the road.
The oil slick stretched over 100m, from the intersection to the foot of Lang Cha Ca overpass, causing slippery conditions, causing many motorcyclists to fall flat on the road.
“Many people did not realize it in time and fell. Luckily, there was no big car driving next to them when they fell, so they only suffered minor scratches,” said witness Nguyen Danh.
Tan Son Nhat Traffic Police arrived at the scene to record the incident. Traffic police officers spread sand on the oil stains to ensure traffic safety for passersby.
Because the incident occurred during rush hour, it caused traffic congestion at the gateway to Tan Son Nhat airport.
