According to the plan, the first testing phase will take place from 4:00 a.m. on April 24, 2025 with the Tan Son Nhat – Van Don – Tan Son Nhat (SGN-VDO-SGN) route, operated by Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air. Then, from 4:00 a.m. on April 28, 2025, Terminal T3 will continue testing with the Tan Son Nhat – Noi Bai – Tan Son Nhat (SGN-HAN-SGN) route.
These are key routes with a large number of passengers, helping to verify the actual operating capacity of the new terminal before official operation.
On April 30, 2025, Passenger Terminal T3 was officially put into operation.
The opening of passenger terminal T3 is expected to reduce pressure on terminal T1, which is having to serve an increasing number of domestic passengers.
According to the new allocation, from April 30, 2025, Terminal T1 will be dedicated to serving domestic flights of four airlines: Vasco, Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airlines and Pacific Airlines. Meanwhile, all domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air will be operated at Terminal T3.
Specifically, from 4:00 a.m. on May 5, 2025, all domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air will officially operate.
Tan Son Nhat International Airport emphasized that to ensure safety and efficiency during the transition, airlines, ground service units, aviation and non-aviation service providers need to proactively notify all their staff about the new operation plan.
At the same time, relevant units must conduct a comprehensive review of the equipment system, working procedures, prepare adequate human resources, organize training and education to ensure smooth operation. In addition, plans to handle unusual situations must also be carefully planned to respond promptly when incidents occur.

The port also requires units to coordinate closely to regularly update information and deploy appropriate operational scenarios. Information dissemination and dissemination to passengers and airline ticket agents should also be carried out to help passengers understand the new regulations and avoid confusion during travel. In particular, passengers should pay attention to the correct terminal area to check in, avoiding going to the wrong terminal, leading to flight delays, affecting service quality as well as the image of airlines and Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
In addition, during the conversion process, if there are any difficulties or problems, the relevant units need to proactively coordinate with the Tan Son Nhat Airport Operations Center for timely support and resolution. Careful preparation and methodical implementation will help ensure smooth operations at Terminal T3, meeting the increasing travel needs of domestic passengers.
