Every March of the lunar calendar, millions of Vietnamese people at home and abroad turn their hearts to the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day. The ancient folk song "No matter where you go/Remember the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day on the 10th of March" is a reminder for everyone to always remember to repay the kindness of their ancestors, to remember the heroic history of building and defending the country of our people.

King Hung Nghi Vuong Temple is located in the historical and cultural relic complex of Thuong Ngan village, Van Lang commune (Hung Ha).

According to the legend of Lac Long Quan - Au Co, the Vietnamese people have the same origin, the same bloodline of Lac Hong, and are children of the same womb (compatriots). Of the 100 children of Lac Long Quan - Au Co, 50 followed their mother to the mountains, and 50 followed their father to the sea to make a living. The eldest son followed his mother to Phong Chau (now Phu Tho) to found Van Lang and was honored as King Hung. Van Lang was the first state in the history of the Vietnamese people, ruled by 18 kings. The Hung Kings taught people to grow wet rice and chose Nghia Linh mountain, the highest mountain in the region, to perform rituals according to the beliefs of agricultural residents such as worshiping the rice god and the sun god to pray for favorable weather, good crops, and the growth of all things.

To commemorate the great contributions of the Hung Kings, the worship of Hung Kings has gradually spread and has a lasting vitality from generation to generation. Our Party and State always pay attention to the worship of Hung Kings, provide funds to restore relics, include the legend of Hung Kings in the curriculum to educate the younger generation, and allow people across the country to take a day off on the Hung Kings' Death Anniversary (the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month) to participate in and organize ritual activities towards the nation's origins.

In Thai Binh, according to the results of the inventory of relics by the Provincial Museum, in addition to the villages worshiping the angels who assisted the Hung Kings, there are currently about 50 villages and communes that worship the Hung Kings and the people from Thai Binh who had the merit of defeating the invaders during the Hung Kings' time or were concubines of the Hung Kings. Among them, Hung Vuong Linh Tu (King Hung Nghi Vuong Temple) in Van Lang Commune (Hung Ha) is where the spiritual and cultural activities of the local people take place, bearing the strong belief of worshiping the Hung Kings. The temple is located in the historical and cultural relic complex of Thuong Ngan village, which was ranked as a provincial relic in 2003. This is an ancient temple with over 2,500 years of history, but due to bombs and war and weathering over time, the temple has seriously deteriorated despite being restored many times by the villagers. In 2019, from the socialized source of the hometown's children showing gratitude to their roots, the temple of King Hung Nghi Vuong was restored spaciously right on the foundation of the ancient temple, located on a campus of 2,500m2 .

Sharing about the relic, Mr. Dinh Ngoc Phuc, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Van Lang Commune, Head of the Management Board of the Hung Vuong Linh Tu relic said: The Hung Nghi Vuong Temple in particular, the historical and cultural relic complex of Thuong Ngan village in general is a place to practice the worship of Buddha and the Hung King, expressing gratitude towards the origin of the nation and the aspirations to make the homeland famous of the people of Thuong Ngan village. On the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month every year, at the Hung Nghi Vuong Temple, cadres and people of Tao Le Dong Tra... all follow the old custom of worshiping to make the water source last, leave a good reputation for generations, and prosper!" (according to the traditional genealogy of the 18 branches of the Hung Dynasty - translated by the Institute of Han Nom Studies on February 15, 2002). In 1479, in the “Complete Annals of Dai Viet”, historian Ngo Sy Lien introduced the Hong Bang family name to the local people who respectfully offered incense to commemorate the great contributions of the Hung Kings. This is also an opportunity for today’s generations to better understand and remember the history of the nation, thereby having a sense of responsibility in studying, working, producing, and contributing to the development of the homeland and the country. After the incense offering ceremony, for many years, the locality has organized folk games that have attracted the participation of many classes of people. Thereby creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere, contributing to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural beauty of the nation.

Worshiping the Hung Kings has become a fine cultural tradition, spreading widely throughout the country. Monuments and places of worship of the Hung Kings in all regions of the country are preserved and built by the people, showing the vitality of the Hung King worship belief that lasts forever with the nation. On the National Day on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month every year, in the respectful atmosphere of gratitude and remembrance of the great contributions of the Hung Kings, every Vietnamese citizen is more deeply imbued with the advice of President Ho Chi Minh: "The Hung Kings had the merit of building the country, we, your descendants, must work together to protect the country".
