Many schools with low benchmark scores have members participating in national excellent student competitions.

(Dan Tri) - This year, high schools with the lowest admission scores for grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City such as Tan Tuc, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia... have students participating in the national excellent student competition for the first time.

On the morning of December 19, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony to launch the army to recruit excellent students of Ho Chi Minh City to participate in the national excellent high school student exam for the 2024-2025 school year.

This year, the whole city has 236 best students winning first prizes from 12 teams in the subjects of math, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, literature, history, geography, English, French, Chinese and Japanese selected to join the HCMC excellent student team to compete in the national excellent student competition.

Students participating in the team come from Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, Gia Dinh High School, Mac Dinh Chi High School, Tran Phu High School, Tran Van Giau High School, Phu Nhuan High School, Tan Tuc High School, Nguyen Huu Huan High School, Ngo Quyen High School, Le Quy Don High School, Marie Curie High School, Trung Vuong High School, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia High School, Hoang Hoa Tham High School and Duc Tri High School.

In addition to students from specialized high schools and top schools, this year many high schools with 10th grade entrance scores in the bottom group have students participating in the national excellent student exam.

Last year, Tan Tuc High School had a standard score of 14 points for entering grade 10, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia High School had 15.5 points. Next, Hoang Hoa Tham High School had 18.25 points, Ngo Quyen High School had 18.75 points.

In particular, this year in Ho Chi Minh City, there is a private school with students taking the national excellent exam, Duc Tri Secondary and High School.

In the 2023-2024 school year, Ho Chi Minh City achieved 110 national excellent student awards, the second highest number of awards nationwide, after Hanoi.
