On April 10, Nha Trang City authorities are cordoning off areas with many dangerous obstacles, after many incidents of tourists and residents having their legs cut while swimming in the sea.
Accordingly, many residents and tourists bathing at the beach opposite 80 Tran Phu had their legs cut by many sharp objects.
Locals said many foreign tourists have been injured and had to ask for first aid from locals.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tuyen (Tan Tien ward, Nha Trang city) said that his nephew also suffered a similar condition when he was swimming in the sea and was cut on the leg by a sharp object underwater. The deep wound required 5 stitches and a tetanus shot.
Upon receiving the report, the authorities cordoned off the dangerous area, put up warning signs and deployed lifeguards to be on duty, reminding people not to swim in areas with obstacles.

According to a representative of Nha Trang Bay Management Board, the above area is where an incident occurred in which a barge over 30m long ran aground and had engine failure at the end of 2019.
Currently, the sea sand has buried most of the barge's hull, however, the iron sections of the bow are still under the sand, and can rise up when the tide changes or strong waves hit, drifting ashore and posing a danger to beachgoers.
Nha Trang Bay Management Board has also reported the incident to Nha Trang City People's Committee, proposing that the authorities soon have a plan to handle the situation thoroughly, ensuring safety for residents and tourists.
