On the afternoon of April 18, at the beach and Nguyen Tat Thanh Square (Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province), hundreds of kites in the Quy Nhon - Binh Dinh Art Kite Festival 2025 with various colors, shapes, and sizes flew in the sky.

Kites inspired by ocean creatures such as octopus, lobster, squid, stingray, swordfish... attract much attention from tourists and locals because of their unique and funny shapes.

This is one of the opening activities of this year's summer tourist season in Binh Dinh.

Mr. Nguyen Luong Hai - Secretary of Quy Nhon City Youth Union - said that the Art Kite Festival was organized by Quy Nhon City People's Committee in coordination with Quy Nhon City Youth Union.

About 20 aerodynamic kites were purchased by Quy Nhon City Youth Union to serve the festival. The largest one was about 35m, the smallest was 1m. In addition, dozens of other aerodynamic kites from kite clubs also participated in the performance at this festival.

“We invited kite clubs in the city along with Saigon Kite Club to organize this festival, promising to bring to the people, domestic and foreign tourists to admire giant aerodynamic kites, especially aerodynamic light kites at Quy Nhon beach at night,” said Mr. Hai.

Adjusting the kite strings, Mr. Nguyen Huu Toan (Saigon Kite Club) said: "I have been playing this sport for 10 years. 10 members of our club came to Quy Nhon to participate in this kite festival. It takes a lot of people to be able to fly the kites because the kites are very large."

Coming with her daughter to see the kites, Ms. Ho Mai, a resident of Quy Nhon City, could not hide her excitement: “I see that this year there are many new types and shapes of kites. The children really like coming here. This year there are also lighted kites, so I think many people will come to see them.”

Mr. Le Minh Thang - a tourist from Gia Lai - shared that the kite festival brings more tourists to Quy Nhon beach, creating more places for entertainment and check-in, especially for young people.

Quy Nhon - Binh Dinh Art Kite Festival takes place over 2 days, April 18-19. Aerodynamic kite performance is from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and aerodynamic light kite performance is from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with a scale of about 60 artistic kites, the kite height when released is about 25m.
