The leader of Ham Thuan Nam District People's Committee said that on March 19, 2024, the last household in Ham Thuan Nam District with 58,005.3 m2 of land located on the Ham Kiem - Tien Thanh route, 1.35 km long, agreed to hand over the land after a period of delay. On March 20, 2024, this household removed the dragon fruit pole and the construction unit immediately gathered motorbikes, equipment, and human resources to carry out the construction.
At this time, the route has completed 6.35/7.7 km, reaching 82.5%, of which Phan Thiet City has completed 2.19/2.19 km, reaching 100%; Ham Thuan Nam District has completed 4.16/5.51 km, reaching 75.5%. Thus, the final bottleneck in site clearance for the Ham Kiem - Tien Thanh route has been resolved, after a long time of Phan Thiet City and Ham Thuan Nam District's efforts to clear 34 hectares of land in 2 localities of 91 individuals and 3 organizations. Since the start of construction in mid-November 2021 until now, the construction of the route has been slow according to the progress of site handover of the 2 districts and towns, so the construction unit has requested to extend the completion time many times. Previously, according to the direction of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, the Ham Kiem - Tien Thanh route must be completed and opened to traffic before January 31, 2024. However, on January 9, 2024, the People's Committee of Ham Thuan Nam district issued Official Dispatch No. 17/UBND-PTQD requesting an extension of the time for compensation and site clearance for the remaining area of 58,005.3 m2 with a route length of about 1,350 m of the project to be completed by March 19, 2024 at the latest. At that time, the construction unit requested an extension to complete the route by June 2024. However, the provincial leaders requested that it be completed before April 30, 2024. Therefore, being assigned the final site above, with 1.35 km and assets on the land such as dragon fruit pillars, electricity and water systems, etc., and then speeding up construction for more than 1 month, to complete the 7.7 km long route connecting Ham Kiem to Tien Thanh is a challenge for the construction unit.
According to the leader of Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company 515, the construction unit of the Ham Kiem - Tien Thanh route, if this final site is handed over all at once, the unit will arrange to deploy overtime and increase shifts to ensure the progress set by the province, which is April 30, 2024, to open the entire route to traffic.

The opening of Ham Kiem - Tien Thanh route on the occasion of April 30 and May 1 is a special event, because it is complementary, complete, and convenient for the core area of tourism in the south of the province.
