On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), Tan Son Nhat Airport's T3 passenger terminal - a key symbolic project of Ho Chi Minh City - was officially completed and put into operation, marking a strong transformation in urban transport infrastructure.

With a modern design and a synchronously invested system of roads and overpasses, Passenger Terminal T3 will receive nearly 80% of all domestic flights arriving and departing at Tan Son Nhat Airport. Domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air will be transferred to Terminal T3. Terminal T3 is built with a scale of 1 basement and 4 floors, with a total floor area of up to 112,500m². The space inside the terminal is scientifically and modernly arranged with 90 traditional check-in counters, 20 automatic baggage drop counters and 42 self-service check-in kiosks, helping to optimize check-in time for passengers.
Terminal 3 has 27 boarding gates, of which 13 use telescopic bridges and 14 are served by buses, along with 6 departure baggage islands and 10 arrival baggage islands. Security at the terminal is enhanced with 25 passenger control gates and especially 8 modern security control gates. In addition, Terminal 3 is also designed with a separate area for VIP, business class and priority guests, ensuring a high-class and convenient service experience.
ACV representative said: With the goal of becoming one of the most modern and friendly terminals in the region - Terminal T3 is expected to contribute to improving service quality and affirming the position of Vietnamese aviation on the international map.
It is expected that from April 17, Vietnam Airlines flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Van Don will be transferred to Terminal T3. By the end of April, all domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines will officially transfer to Terminal T3, except for flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Con Dao, Ca Mau, Rach Gia which will continue to operate at Terminal T1.
Terminal T3 is newly built with a capacity of 20 million passengers/year, serving 7,000 passengers/peak hour, operating all types of code C and code E aircraft, contributing to relieving congestion at Tan Son Nhat airport in the coming time.
