The launching ceremony was attended by representatives of the provincial People's Committee, provincial departments and branches, Vinh City People's Committee and a large number of students, union members, youth and local people; especially 12 publishing, printing and distribution units inside and outside the province with nearly 40 booths and mobile book trucks.
In 2017, the Government approved the Project "Developing Reading Culture in the Community to 2020, with a Vision to 2030", identifying the development of reading culture as an important content of the country's cultural and educational development; On November 4, 2021, the Government issued Decision No. 1862, taking April 21 every year as Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, to affirm the great role of books in cultivating knowledge, nurturing the soul, and evoking pride in national history.
Each page of the book is a journey to discover traditional values and glorious feats that have shaped the Vietnamese identity, becoming a bridge between the glorious past and the beautiful present, inspiring every Vietnamese person to love and appreciate the achievements of previous generations and to constantly cultivate knowledge to build an increasingly prosperous and developed country.
This year's event is even more meaningful as we prepare to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; and the 135th Birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

With the messages "Reading culture - Connecting the community", "Entering the era of national growth with books", "Reading books - enriching knowledge, nurturing aspirations, promoting innovation and creativity", within the framework of Book and Reading Culture Day on April 21, Nghe An province organized many attractive activities such as: Exhibition, display, giving away books; promoting and introducing books about Nghe An, about President Ho Chi Minh... and many other exciting events at the exhibition spaces on Ho Tung Mau walking street, from April 18-20, 2025. At the launching ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented books and gifts to students of SOS Children's Village Vinh.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, called on all people, teachers, soldiers, youth union members and all students to actively respond to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day and the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest of Nghe An province in 2025.
Through its activities, Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 will contribute to encouraging and developing the reading movement, raising people's awareness of the great significance and importance of reading, building reading habits in families, schools, agencies, organizations and communities; at the same time, discovering and honoring organizations and individuals who have contributed to the development of books and reading culture in society.
According to Ms. Hanh, this is a good opportunity to improve knowledge resources, serve work and study, constantly improve knowledge and skills and promote the tradition of being the thousand-year-old land of learning of the children of Nghe An.
In Nghe An, after 6 years of implementation (2019 - 2025), the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest has had over 530,000 entries. On average, each year there are over 100,000 entries for the district preliminary round, over 3,500 entries are selected to send to the provincial preliminary round, each year there are 20 entries selected to compete at the national level and Nghe An is always in the top provinces with many entries winning high prizes.
The 2025 Nghe An Province Reading Culture Ambassador Contest is open-ended and the Organizing Committee does not provide a theme. This facilitates the development of thinking ability, encourages initiative and creativity of each contestant.
