Cuban Ambassador visits and works at Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee

(PLVN) - On April 18, at the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee Headquarters, Mr. Nguyen Huu Nghia, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, received and worked with Mr. Rogelio Polanco Fuentes - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam. Attending the reception were also representatives of leaders of a number of departments and branches of the province.

At the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Huu Nghia gave an overview of the outstanding achievements in socio -economic development, potentials, strengths as well as development orientations of Hung Yen province in the coming period. He affirmed that Hung Yen province is always ready to expand cooperation with Cuban localities in many fields, especially sharing experiences in socio-economic development, training medical human resources, pharmaceutical production and application of biotechnology.

The Provincial Party Secretary also expressed his wish to continue receiving attention and active support from the Cuban Ambassador and his colleagues in strengthening the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Cuba in general, and between Hung Yen province and Cuban partners in particular.

Mr. Rogelio Polanco Fuentes congratulated and highly appreciated the development results that Hung Yen has achieved in recent times, and expressed his impression of the historical and cultural traditions of Hung Yen. The Ambassador affirmed that this visit and working session is a clear demonstration of the special solidarity and traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cuba, especially in the context that the two countries are looking forward to the 65th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960 - December 2, 2025).

The Ambassador also expressed his wish to welcome Hung Yen businesses to Cuba to explore investment cooperation opportunities in fields such as agriculture, livestock, etc. and affirmed that Cuba is ready to support Hung Yen in training human resources for health and education.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue to create the most favorable conditions for delegations, businesses, organizations and people of both sides to have more opportunities to meet, exchange, share experiences, promote comprehensive cooperation, and contribute to fostering the special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba to develop more sustainably.
