Many areas in Ho Chi Minh City suddenly shook strongly, especially in high-rise buildings, causing people to panic and run to the ground.
On the afternoon of March 28, people in many areas of Ho Chi Minh City were shocked when they felt their houses shaking. Many people in high-rise buildings were shocked when they felt the tremors clearly, their furniture swayed, and some even felt dizzy and nauseous.
People ran down to Le Dai Hanh street for fear of an earthquake.
At the Kingdom 101 apartment building on To Hien Thanh Street (District 10, Ho Chi Minh City), Ms. Ngoc Ha (31 years old) said that while she was sitting at work, she felt furniture being shaken and pushed. Listening outside, she saw dozens of people rushing to the ground, so she followed.
"I clearly felt dizzy and my heart was beating fast. Many people around were also panicking, not understanding what was happening, only knowing that the house was shaking and everyone was scared and rushed to the ground floor," said Ms. Ha.
Similar situations also occurred in many apartment buildings and office buildings in districts 1, 6, 7, 3, Binh Thanh... On social networks, many people continuously posted information about this strange phenomenon, expressing concern about whether it was an earthquake or not.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh, Director of the Institute of Geophysics, said that the slight shaking in buildings in Ho Chi Minh City was due to the impact of the large earthquake that occurred in Myanmar at 6:20 a.m. on March 28. Due to the long distance, Vietnam was slightly affected, especially in high-rise buildings in Ho Chi Minh City, where the shaking was clearly felt.
Previously, at 13:20, shaking was also recorded in Hanoi, with the epicenter at coordinates 21.71N - 96.02E, depth 10km, magnitude M = 7.3, and RRTT level of 0.

Although the shaking only lasted about 3-5 minutes, it still caused chaos among the people.
Many people waited down the street for a long time, not daring to go back to their homes for fear that the shaking would not stop.
People on Street 19, Ward 10, District 6 sat in long rows on the street.
"I was taking a nap and felt someone shaking me. When I opened my eyes, everything was shaking. This is the first time I've experienced this feeling. I'm very worried," said Mr. Cuong, a resident of District 6.
Mr. Trong Nhan, an office worker in District 1, said that while he was working, he felt his chair and table shaking slightly, and the glass of water on the table swaying. "My whole company stood up and looked at each other, many people were scared because they had never experienced this feeling before," Mr. Nhan said.
By now, people in Ho Chi Minh City have returned to work as usual, rearranging furniture that was displaced in their homes after the sudden shaking. However, some people still feel anxious, especially those living in high-rise buildings.
