Worrying after FIFA's huge penalty

FIFA OFFICIALLY PUNISHED HAGL

On October 24, the International Football Federation (FIFA) issued Document No. FDD-19714 to HAGL Club and forwarded to VFF regarding the application of the penalty of banning player registration for HAGL Club regarding the responsibility of implementing the decision on the dispute between HAGL Club and player Martin Dzilah. Accordingly, the penalty of "banning new player registration, domestic and international scope" will be applied to HAGL Club from the time FIFA issues the above document. VFF (at the request of FIFA, as a member federation of FIFA) will apply the penalty of banning new player registration for domestic scope. Therefore, yesterday (October 25), VFF announced the application of the above penalty for HAGL Club to comply with regulations. The penalty will be removed by FIFA when HAGL Club completes its financial obligations according to FIFA's decision.

With the ban on player registration, HAGL Club will actually be banned from domestic and international transfers, until they comply with FIFA's request to provide data proving that they transferred the amount of 29,000 USD to Martin Dzilah, and this player confirmed it on FIFA's system. Previously, Martin Dzilah was a player of HAGL Club in the 2023-2024 season but suffered a knee injury and agreed with the mountain town team on an early contract termination agreement worth 20,000 USD, but then he sued FIFA because he said he had not received the money.

Due to the delay in updating, HAGL Club was unable to send FIFA evidence proving that it had paid the amount of 20,000 USD to Martin Dzilah within the prescribed time, until the judge ordered it to transfer 29,000 USD to the player within 45 days, otherwise it would receive a penalty from FIFA.

RELY ON LEIKU STADIUM TO RECLAIM THE TOP

HAGL's soaring days ended after a 1-1 draw against Da Nang FC. Playing away at the bottom of the table, coach Le Quang Trai and his team had to defend hard and barely managed to come away with 1 point. The 90 minutes at Hoa Xuan Stadium in the previous round showed that HAGL's top position was very fragile, despite the fact that the mountain town team still maintained an unbeaten record and conceded the fewest goals in the tournament. 8 points after the first 4 matches was a result beyond the ability of this team, which has been thoroughly rejuvenated with many young, inexperienced faces.

However, the team of coach Le Quang Trai and technical director Vu Tien Thanh do not want to end the happy days. Instead of having to spread out in many arenas (like the case of their opponent Thanh Hoa), HAGL only focuses on each specific match in the V-League. Compared to Thanh Hoa, which has played 8 matches since the beginning of the season, HAGL has only played 4 matches. The physical advantage, combined with the saving of travel time (due to playing at home), gives the mountain town team a golden opportunity to open the first knot of the season.

The match against Thanh Hoa Club (taking place at 5pm on October 26) is a turning point for HAGL, first of all because this is a strong opponent. History supports HAGL with the last two unbeaten matches against Thanh Hoa, but the Thanh team is flying high with 6 unbeaten in the last 7 matches, including 3 wins against tough teams such as Hanoi Police Club, Hai Phong and Binh Dinh. The scientific, flexible and enthusiastic playing style that coach Velizar Popov has built over the past 2 years has shaped the Thanh Hoa team that is difficult to defeat.

Also because the opponent is difficult to play, if they win, HAGL will not only reclaim the top spot from their opponent, but also create a spiritual springboard for the next matches. HAGL is playing extremely well at home, remaining unbeaten in 11 of the last 12 matches. The field size and atmosphere in Pleiku are companions to the tight, lightning-fast counter-attacking style that the duo Le Quang Trai - Vu Tien Thanh has molded for HAGL. The mountain town team needs to take all 3 points to be more stable before the upcoming storm.

In round 5 of V-League 2024 - 2025, which took place last night, October 25, at Hang Day Stadium, The Cong Viettel Club defeated Binh Duong with a score of 1-0 thanks to a goal by Nguyen Duc Chien. Despite having one more player in the second half (Bui Van Duc was sent off for a rough tackle on Ho Tan Tai in the 45+1 minute), the away team Binh Duong could not turn the tables. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan's team missed many opportunities, including a failed close-range header by Ha Duc Chinh. Defeating Binh Duong, The Cong Viettel temporarily rose to the top with 10 points after 5 matches, while the away team is likely to fall to the middle of the rankings.
