According to the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien Hue province, the number of tourists coming to Hue during the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024 increased compared to the same period of the Lunar New Year of Quy Mao 2023. From February 7-15 (from December 28 to the 6th day of Tet), it is estimated that about 102,000 visitors came to visit Thua Thien Hue province (an increase of 20% compared to the same period of Tet holiday in 2023), tourism revenue is estimated at 160 billion VND (an increase of 4.82% compared to the Lunar New Year holiday in 2023).
From February 7-15, there were 490 flights to and from Thua Thien Hue, with a total of 52,200 passengers, including 30,200 arrivals and 22,000 departures. Also during this period, regarding railway transportation, there were 10 pairs of trains arriving and departing through Hue station, with an estimated 1,100 passengers/day arriving at Hue station.
As for the relic sites managed by the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, from the first to the third day of Tet (February 10-12), they opened free of charge to domestic tourists and local residents; they welcomed 104,682 visitors, including 12,682 international visitors and 92,447 domestic visitors. On the third day of Tet (February 12), the peak day, they welcomed 49,012 visitors, including 4,355 international visitors and 44,657 domestic visitors and local residents.
On February 13, when the relic sites in Hue resumed normal ticket sales, 16,764 visitors came to visit, including 4,117 international visitors and 12,647 domestic visitors.
