(Dan Tri) - Having no father, his mother was tricked and sold abroad when he was just 4 years old, but with determination, Khoi overcame his fate, becoming an example of poverty but studiousness, the pride of his village.
Vo Ngoc Dang Khoi, a 12th grade student at the Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center (VEC) in Tuong Duong district, Nghe An, is a shining example of perseverance in overcoming difficulties.
Born without knowing his father, Khoi had to face many difficulties when his mother was tricked and sold abroad when he was just over 4 years old. Since then, Khoi has lived with his grandmother in Quang Yen village, Tam Dinh commune, Tuong Duong district.
When Khoi was 10 years old, his grandmother could no longer take care of him due to his constant illness, so he was sent to the SOS Children's Village in Vinh City to continue his studies. When he was 14, his grandmother got better and took Khoi back to her hometown with the hope that he would be her support in her final days. Despite his difficult circumstances, Khoi never thought of dropping out of school.
After graduating from grade 9, Khoi enrolled in the Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center of Tuong Duong district, where he enjoyed state benefits that made his studies easier. Khoi has grown up thanks to the care of his teachers and friends. He lives in harmony, is happy, and is determined to study to change his fate.
Khoi has always maintained excellent academic performance, winning the encouragement prize for literature in grade 12 at the provincial level. This is a proud achievement after more than 10 years since the center had a student winning a provincial prize.
Khoi’s achievements are a testament to his tireless efforts and the pride of his family, school and village. Behind his success are nights spent studying diligently and days borrowing books from teachers because his family could not afford to buy reference books.

Khoi never allowed himself to give up, because he always believed that only studying could help him change his life.
Tuong Duong Continuing Education Center has mobilized volunteer groups to support poor students, helping to improve their daily lives and giving them more motivation to study.
"The journey of overcoming difficulties of poor students would not be complete without the support from the center's boarding environment. Teachers and friends are the spiritual support and material support to give them more strength. That is the motivation to help them have more confidence and motivation to continue studying," Khoi shared.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, a literature teacher, shared: "I really admire and am proud of this student with extraordinary determination. Khoi not only wants to have a high school diploma but also nurtures the dream of becoming a psychological consultant, wanting to share with poor patients when facing illness but not having the means to treat it. Khoi is very polite, loved by teachers and friends."
The story of Vo Ngoc Dang Khoi's perseverance not only inspires many people but also affirms the value of education in changing lives. Let's spread this spirit together, so that no student is left behind on the journey to conquer knowledge.
Khoi registered under his grandmother's household registration (she is a poor household), so he is entitled to receive student boarding policy support of 2,340,000 VND/month.
