The exhibition includes content related to art forms using masks in Korea and Southeast Asia, including Vietnamese opera.
Part 1 of the exhibition introduces the origin of masks, introducing the forms of religious practices (shamanism) and entertainment using masks. Part 2 discusses the legends and masks of Southeast Asia through folk tales. Part 3 introduces Vietnamese hát bội as a form of performance using face painting techniques (close to masks). Part 4 introduces Philippine masks appearing in festivals and contemporary works and part 5 introduces the art of Korean Talchum.
All exhibition content was then digitized and visitors can use Google Art & Culture software to enjoy the exhibition images and information.
