Vietnamese artist nominated for Grammy for band Ngọt's album

Duy Dao, creative director, was nominated in the category 'Special Publication Design' at the 2024 Grammys. His talent on the album 'Gieo' by the band Ngọt brought him this honor.

According to the Grammy.com website of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences - the organizers of the annual Grammy Awards, the category with Vietnamese artists nominated is the 76th category.

Accordingly, the category Best boxed or special limited edition package (ie "Special edition design") has 5 nominations.

These are the albums: Gieo - Duy Dao as art director (album of the band Ngọt ); The Collected Works Of Neutral Milk Hotel - artist group Jeff Mangum, Daniel Murphy & Mark Ohe; For The Birds: The Birdsong Project - Jeri Heiden & John Heiden; Inside: Deluxe Box Set - Bo Burnham & Daniel Calderwood; and Words & Music, May 1965: Deluxe Edition - Masaki Koike.

On his personal page at midnight on November 10, artist Duy Dao shared the following right after the 2024 Grammy announced the nominations:

"Art Direction and Design for Ngọt's album Gieo has just been nominated for the 2024 Grammy - Special Publication Design category.

(I think I was lucky to be the first Vietnamese nominated, and also the first Designer and Art Director from Southeast Asia).

Thanks to my family. Thanks to my friends. Especially thanks to the team who always tried with me. And more special thanks to the Sweet band who always believed and were patient.

The people around me have always been my greatest inspiration and motivation. There will definitely be a longer, fuller, and deeper thank you after I calm down."
